Daffy is healing nicely! She is full of kitten s***k and learning to play with toys. She still prefers cuddles though. She goes back to SPCA early next week. She will be at weight for spay and enucleation. Such a happy mellow girl.

Daffy got to spend some time at the clinic today. Her "nether region" issue is a pr*****ed re**um. They did a surgical correction, and she couldn't poo. Today they removed her stitches, gave her an e***a and a partial tail shave. Poor little girl. Lets hope the prolapse doesn't return. (No, I won't post photos of her "problem" :) )

Daffy is doing well. She really just wants to be loved and cuddled. A true purr machine. She did get her love and cuddles after this video.

Welcome to Daffy! She has a horribly infected eye.....and a medical issue of her "nether region" which required stitches. She is estimated to be 10 weeks old. She will hang out here getting all her meds on time and gain some weight. Once she is at weight for spay, a decision will be made about her eye (whether it needs removal or not). She has mastered the fine art of purring and is content to be carried around.

Incoming medical kitten this afternoon. This area has been sterilized at least half a dozen times (hence the discoloration on the cover sheet). Let's hope I got all the Panleuk virus remnants....will update after I get the sweet kitten here.

Whoo hoo! Kittens got their first negative Panleukopenia test. Since they were negative for the test they also got their vaccinations. They are full of kitten antics!

Kittens are feeling much better! They are now wanting regular kitten food. Their energy levels are higher. They are playing with toys and each other.

Cha Cha and Marty were struggling over the weekend. Got supplies/meds from SPCA on Saturday. They are feeling better today. Their appetites have been great today.

My tiniest little baby has passed. Took him back to SPCA where they did testing on him. He tested positive for panleukopenia. He passed knowing he was loved and had a full tummy. Here are his brother and sister with food faces. So far they seem to be doing well.

Kittens are at SPCA clinic checking to see if they can pass their second Panleukopenia test....if they do, they will be staying for spay/neuter. While I am waiting, George is getting some love and attention from me while we wait the 10 minutes for test results. George is an amazing sweet senior....he needs a home! In talking with the SPCA team, he is partially blind, deaf and has a heart murmur :( He needs out to live his best life with someone to love him.

Kittens have passed their test, so they are staying at SPCA to be spayed/neutered and go up for adoption!

Kittens have passed their first panleuk test on Monday. Now to gain some weight so they can be tested again...then spayed/neutered and off to forever homes.

All the kittens are steadily gaining weight. Activity levels are great, appetites are enormous.

We had a quiet weekend. All the kittens were not feeling so well. They got their meds, syringe fed and sub-q fluids when needed. Today, appetites have returned and their activity level is up!

The little boy who I have syringe fed since coming into my home is eating on his own for the first time today! Whoo hoo.....he is already feeling better!

On another note......just look how amazing Bo (Gracie Mae) is doing in her forever home!! 40 pounds now, and just got the last of her puppy shots.....look out world here she comes!!

We made a trip to the clinic today as one of the kittens was struggling a bit (wouldn't eat by himself and was a little lethargic). His panleuk test came back with a faint positive. :( . Due the major size differences, individual meds were given (due to dosing differences). I am so thankful that the clinic could get them all seen, tested and meds for me today.

Panleuk times 4 ..... sibling has passed away from it, so now these 4 are in my care. All tests were negative today so they just need a close watchful eye right now. I have the meds should any be symptomatic. They are close to 5 weeks old.

Remember Little Man (King was his name at SPCA)? He went to his home in early June. He has been returned to SPCA due to severe life changes (that would leave him crated up to 16 hours a day). In the best interest of him, he has been returned. I went and saw him today, he is amazing! All puppy!! He is house trained!! His name now is Motley ........

Lambchop/Lambert had x-rays and a cast change today. Her leg is healing really well....so well that next week she may stay at SPCA for her spay and then go up for adoption.

Lambchop/Lambert had x-rays and a cast change today. Her leg is healing perfectly. This sweetie is so smart! House trained (just take her out regularly), comes when called, walks nicely on a leash, and knows to play gently with the four legged that are smaller than her.

Lambchop/Lambert is doing well. She gets outdoor supervised fun in the cool of evening and early morning. She now lets me know when she needs a potty break. She is growing like a w**d, and now frequently attempts escape from her area. She goes back for a cast change on Thursday.

Lambert (I am calling her Lambchop) is doing well. She isn't on strict crate rest, so she gets to have supervised fun in the front yard. She is a smart girl who is almost totally potty trained already.

The kittens passed their second Panleukopenia test. They get to stay at the SPCA to get spayed/ neutered and find their forever homes. Now, please welcome Lambert to my care. She is about 6/7 weeks old and has a broken leg. She requires crate rest and TLC.

Remember little Bo?? Her adopters just shared this update. Her head tilt is almost gone, she now weighs 26 pounds, and is outgrowing her older brothers!

And the challenges continue......trying to get weights. Kittens are growing like w**ds. The smallest two are at 29.5 ounces, while the larger two are at 35 and 36 ounces. (Spay/neuter weight is 32 ounces).

Kittens are full of energy and feeling great. I've got little escape artists. I have had to become quite creative in keeping them contained. These are child safety gates stacked from floor to ceiling (I don't have central air. This is to allow them cool air). When free roaming through the house, they are door dashers and I am fearful the doggie door would pose an escape avenue.

These little ones are continuing to do well.....energy levels are up, no vomiting or diarrhea. That means a space upgrade :) . At six weeks old...playtime is most important.

No weight loss....minimal weight gain (an ounce or so) in all 4. Three or four different canned foods...two types of dry.....and it is the shredded chicken for the win in getting them to eat. Whoo hoo! I hope this trend continues!

Gracie Mae and PeeWee are continuing to thrive. I am seeing less neurological issues...they may both have vision issues. They sure are happy little girls! Vaccinations and vet check on Friday.

PeeWee (the smaller one) and Gracie Mae are doing well. They are getting more coordinated and adventurous every day. We spent some time in the "sterilized" part of the front yard this evening.

Meet PeeWee (the smaller of the two) and Gracie Mae....my newest foster babies! Born on May 13th, and surrendered to SPCA on Friday (I picked them up on Friday). These little girls have neurological issues. Peewee is possibly also vision and hearing impaired.

Learning the doggie door. The antibiotics for the Upper Respiratory Infection seem to be working! Little Man is ALL puppy now.

My voice

Today's weight....42.4 ounces...working on the 3 pound mark. Here you can see he has found his voice....and see his flaky skin.

All the pups got their first vaccinations today. Little Man is having some issues.....mostly his skin. He is loosing hair and his skin is flaky. And....he has had a runny nose since last week. He was seen in the clinic last week for his runny nose (he is on antibiotics) and his skin scrape is being analyzed. Otherwise, he is doing really well.

Weighing in at 28.5 ounces....Little Man has turned into a puppy. The video isn't the best since I had to keep running around the bed when he got close to the edge.

The babies needed a bath.....all squeaky clean...listen to the post bath mumblings.....the heating pad is under them, the towel draped over them to keep them warmer while they dry.

Still no weight gain. He is more active today and has found his howl!

Little one has great appetite! Let's hope weight gain is just around the corner.

Eating on his own

Not sure if it was the sub-q fluids, the sunshine/ fresh air, the Karo syrup in the bone broth or the baby food chicken mixed in his food....but he is eating on his own for the first time since Saturday morning.

Eating on his own day two. Took some experimenting to find the texture he prefers....the winner is....the one that he can paw paint with in the crate! He is eating until his tummy is full. The others don't want their food this wet. He even got serenaded while he ate today.
