Because I believe no one should be jailed for selling or buying natural food or drink, I introduced HB 86 to legalize the retail sale of raw milk.

Food Freedom is essential. The Administrative State, however, imposes bans like they’re the legislature. But they’re not. Raw milk has not been banned by Congress or the Kentucky legislature, but people still cannot sell or buy it at the retail level in Kentucky.

This regulation makes Kentucky’s laws even more restrictive, as it is a total ban, than California, Oregon, or Washington (COW, see what I did there!? 😂). If these three big government purgatories can legalize raw milk, so can we!

I do want to be clear though, the regulatory schemes that the executive branch may cook up do have some food freedom advocates concerned. Having listened to these folks and some of my colleagues, I do intend to work with my colleagues to change up this bill to ensure that the Executive Branch does not regulate raw milk so intensely, that it may as well remain banned.

At the moment, I intend to look to the legal frameworks Florida and West Virginia offer so that the law is clear, customers who want raw milk can get it safely and affordably, and that farmers are protected from frivolous anti-freedom litigation.

If you have any input on what to include to achieve these goals, I’m all ears! But I also ask that you support HB 86 in pursuit of Food Freedom!

Can’t help but be SUPER thankful that Eldon noticed her in labor and we got them inside between births 🤪. Was a bit crazy for a hot minute.

I’ve raised livestock my entire life, and the saying is “if you raise livestock, you will have dead stock” while this is very true, the losses never get easier. Glad we didn’t have any loss today. If y’all know me, you know I sure do love the babies! 🥰
