Keeping Algae Under Control in Your Aquarium

Algae is a natural part of every aquarium, but too much of it can quickly affect water quality and the health of your fish and plants. While some algae are beneficial in small amounts, an overgrowth is usually a sign of excess nutrients, too much light, or an imbalance in the system.

Here are a few ways to keep algae under control:

Control lighting: Limit aquarium lights to 8–10 hours per day.

Regular maintenance: Perform consistent water changes and clean the glass as needed.

Balanced feeding: Overfeeding contributes to excess nutrients that algae thrive on.

Live plants & cleaners: Adding live plants, snails, or algae-eating fish can help compete with and reduce algae naturally.

With proper care and balance, you can enjoy a clean, healthy aquarium with clear water and thriving fish.
