Sawyer took a quick turn for the worse in his battle with cancer today. He is no longer in pain and is at peace.

We will miss his smart, funny, beautiful, sassy self so very, very much.

Life is going to be hard without him, but we are so very, very grateful to have found him.

We love you, Sawyer. You will always be the goodest, best boi ever.

An update on Sawyer (boy have we gotten bad at updating his FB page):

Unfortunately, Sawyer, who had already been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease earlier this year, was also recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of blood vessel cancer.

He had to have emergency surgery after a previously unknown tumor burst and he started suffering from internal bleeding. He received great care and recovered quickly. Since then he's bounded back with great spirit and energy, still the happiest of floofs.

But still there is the cancer. The prognosis is not great. Likely just a few months.

However, he has been doing so well and is otherwise very healthy, we decided to get him chemotherapy. He just got his second dose this week (of 5) and is so far doing great. Great appetite and attitude, so it's not degrading his quality of life (which was our main concern).

Hopefully with the chemo, he'll have a little bit longer to be a happy puppy. Mostly we want him to see another snow. He LOVES snow so much.

Thank you for following his fun, floofy adventures (well, mostly sleeping), and we will try to update this page more often in the coming months.
