Update on Delta!
She is doing well she is still on antibiotics and ointment in her eyes. She cannot eat on her own still so she is being syringe fed when these photos were taken. Still cleaning gunk out of her eyes from time to time still hoping her sight returns after so long without care from her previous owner.
Thank you to everyone who donated to get her care ❤️

If you ever wondered what our go to mix for bearded dragons not wanting to eat here it is! It does change a little depending on their need like a vitamin deficiency or a calcium deficiency and the Beardie Buffet is switched out for Grubhub Pie for leopard geckos.
If you have a reptile refusing to eat or acting strange please message us as we would be happy to help!

Meet Pablo his owner called me tonight concerned with him sleeping all the time, not eating and having involuntary muscle movement. I went and picked him up and plan to keep him for a week to get him eating again.

His owners were forced to buy a “kit” when purchasing him which included a day time light and a red light which is NOT what they need. Bearded dragons need at least a 75 watt basking bulb to obtain temps of around 100 degrees and a 12” to 24” linear T5 High Output UVB light which replicates the UV rays from the sun.

The videos you see show signs of what Metabolic Bone Disease looks like in reptiles. The involuntary twitching is due to a Vitamin D3 and Calcium deficiency. Reptiles REQUIRE linear UVB lights to make vitamin D3 to absorb calcium just like humans.

Like in most cases this is not the owners fault, they were given bad information at the pet store which led to the decline in their reptiles health. Thankfully we caught it early and Pablo should make a full recovery ❤️

Please pay attention to signs like this and reach out if you have questions or need help!

Meet Ducky we believe he is a Giant leopard gecko given he is 11” long his owner says has stopped eating his worms. He has some stuck shed and looks like he will lose some toes. His nostrils were covered up and we were able to expose one but the other will take some time to moisten up enough to get off. He did eat our reptile food mixture very well which gives us high hopes for a speedy recovery

People ask what our most used item is while rescuing reptiles and I would have to say ours is paper towels! The reason we put them in our intake reptiles housing is so we can keep up with their output (p**p) as it tells you a lot about their health whether they need anti parasitics more hydration and how they are digesting food to possibly adjust tank temperatures. We do it for sanitary reasons, it’s easier to clean and disinfect the tank after each bowel movement especially if being treated for parasites to reduce the risk of reinfection. We also do it to prevent possible impaction that other substrates can cause especially when the animal is under stress. Paper towels hold moisture well for animals needing some humidity like leopard geckos. They make a great bottom to a hospital bin if you get a sick, blind or disabled animal. Paper towels also of course are required for cleaning and disinfecting the tank after each bowel movement AND with donated tanks.

So we use around 3 rolls of papertowels A WEEK here 🫣
So if you have a sick reptile change the substrate to paper towels to help you keep a better eye on how they are doing.

This is Houdini we took him in around two weeks ago or so. Since coming to us he has started vomiting which we suspect is the cause of parasites as they do this to try and vomit up the parasites to rid their body of them. He is on parasite medication and hoping he starts showing some improvement.
Say a little prayer for Houdini ❤️

Sometimes we have to help our special rescues out with shedding. This is Cleo and she came to us last month she has MBD causing the deformities in her arms. She has a very hard time shedding so once the skin is FULLY seperated from the top of her back i just rip a little hole it in to make it easier for her to shed. Peeling your reptile is NEVER recommended unless it’s a case like Cleo’s❤️ will check with he tomorrow to make sure she is making good progress on getting her shed off.
Love ya Cleo

Update on Mochi
He is doing well getting frequent baths to help try and loosen the clogged femoral pores. Don’t mind his messy face he was eating some Beardie Buffet with some calcium powder. You can tell by his cute little face he does have MBD but he is getting stronger and better by the day ❤️
Thank you to EVERYONE who has donated items, purchased from the Amazon List and sent money for mochi and the other reptiles. I wouldn’t be able to rescue so many babies without all of you and we appreciate your support!

This is Spyro the tiniest rescues from Saturday, please watch this video and notice his open mouth breathing, if you see this please know this is signs of an upper respiratory infection in bearded dragons and they needs antibiotics. In the mean time of getting antibiotics or getting into the vet remove all water bowls and decrease the humidity inside the tank as much as you can
