These two pups were found laying in the ditch on County Road 1 in Holmes County. If you recognize them please contact the shelter at 330-674-6301. It’s hard to tell where one dog ends and the other starts but brother is standing over sister and keeping her safe. ❤️

This sweet scared girl was found at Tire Choice Auto on Cleveland RD in Wooster. She is large in size mostly black with tan markings and a purple collar.

Yes, exactly! Please please be patient with your groomer! Every day is different for us. Just because it took an hour and a half the first time doesn’t mean it will always take that amount of time. Our days don’t all look the same, the dogs not always in the same mood, we get phone calls and other important interruptions throughout the day, sometimes clippers or other tools act up, etc. we cannot do our job well if we feel rushed. Again, please be patient! 💜💜

I know I’ve said it many times but I just have to say it again (and probably again and again and again for forever) that I am beyond thankful for the support and trust that you have in me ❤️ a lot of you have left me a very sweet review with the kindest words! (appreciate that SO much🥺!!!), you’ve told your friends and family about me, and you share my posts! You all really know how to make a girl feel loved!! 🥰
With that being said, I am approaching the point where I am beginning to schedule out 3 to 4 weeks! I will be asking my clients to try to schedule out their next appointment(s) at their current appointment to assure you get an appointment when your precious fur baby is in need!

Keeping your dog on a regular grooming schedule with the same groomer is not just beneficial for their appearance it can also help keep them healthy and happy in many other ways than just looking after their skin and coat.

As a groomer we get to know your pet up close and personal, we can notice any changes to your dogs skin, body, lumps and bumps etc that maybe an indication to a health issue.

I gave my older girl Greta a bath and tidy up on Friday and unfortunately noticed she wasn’t very happy with her tummy area being touched, after gently seeing what was wrong I found a large lump tuck up in her groin area that has significantly grown in size and hardness in the last two weeks, we are currently awaiting results and I am scared to death and praying it is nothing serious.

Without grooming Greta I would not have noticed this issue so soon.

I will always inform my clients of any issues or changes on collection as sometimes catching new issues early on can save a life. 🙏🏻

Your groomer is not just here for aesthetic purposes but for the health and well-being of you dog. 💜

All DOODLE owners please read!

When I first started to learn how to groom I was shocked to learn that groomers were not a fan of doodles.. (they have always been my favorite, I have 2 of my own) of course this was supper discouraging and upsetting to me but in the end I didn’t let it stop me from accepting them and I am SO glad. I have soooo many doodle clients and I love them so much! ❤️

With that being said, I do have to admit that this is a very good and informative read, almost everything said here IS true. Please please try your hardest at home to maintain your doodles coat. If not for me, for the dog! Matting can be very painful for your pup if it’s severe enough. Please understand that we never want to shave your dog, we only do it when it is the only option due to matting.

I hope and intend to ALWAYS accept doodles!! So please send them all my way, I am more than happy to have them!😍😍😍

Doodles!!!

I’m on many different platforms and apart of many different grooming communities. There are hundreds upon hundreds of groomers saying NO to doodles. They are in a place in their career and how the market is that they can pick and choose their clients and more and more groomers will not accept doodles anymore.

Why?
1. The genetics of these designer dogs make their coats vary across the spectrum, most mat easily and their personalities are incredibly erratic. These things make this breed more difficult to groom.
2. Some (a lot) of doodles are incredibly large. 80 lb puppies.
3. to get a good cut all of that hair (a ton of hair) must be dried with the High velocity dryer while straightened. More work and time.
4. Being one of the most difficult coats to maintain, these dogs are coming into the shop in terrible condition. Matted sometimes to the skin.
5. Pet parents are not well enough equipped with the proper tools, knowledge, time or technique to maintain these breeds.
6. As a groomer it feels as if the parent is not willing or able to put in the effort to maintain their pet and will be more of a hassle to shops when their dog gets a shavedown due to their lack of knowledge Ro effort. Creating a fearful environment where a groomer must worry if they will be dealing with unhappy clients, bad reviews and headache.

How do you become a doodle owner your groomer will accept into their schedule and love?
1. These dogs need regular grooming! It will help them succeed and be fear free and cooperative while groomed and keep the coat healthy so you can maintain it better in between grooms. Prebook your appointments.
2. Learn the line brushing technique. This is the proper way to brush your dog, getting the hair at the root to the end so it does not mat.
3. Brush your dog 3-7 times a week! A lot of the time doodles have a combination coat that mats easily and brushing is REQUIRED to not mat. Brush thoroughly. Especially friction areas.
4. Understand that this designer dog you bought, that probably cost a ton of money will continue to cost a ton of money for upkeep it’s entire life. It’s grooming needs are not the equivalent to a pug, a golden retriever or even a poodle. Doodles are even more high maintenance.
5. Appreciate your groomer, doodles are no easy task. Be kind and compassionate. Communicate with your groomer to help your dog, yourself and your groomer succeed.

Carly the groomer here, I’d like to reintroduce myself for those who don’t really know much about me! ☺️

•HOW I GOT STARTED•
About 2 years ago now I started out as a dog bather for a long time friend of mine who is an awesome groomer (Diane Gilbert)
I did this for a few months before I decided I wanted to become a groomer myself and thats when she started to teach me everything I know!! ❤️
I worked out of her salon with her for awhile until I started growing and that’s when I decided I wanted to go out on my own and have my very own grooming business! I am so grateful to be able to work from the most adorable little salon right outside of my house! 😍

•A LITTLE ABOUT ME•
As you can tell, I absolutely love and adore animals (especially dogs😉) before becoming a groomer I had a couple different jobs working at pet hotels/doggy daycares!
Throughout my life I have always had dogs and cannot imagine a life without them!!
I currently have 3 dogs, Millie (cockapoo), Margo (labradoodle), and Doc (sheepadoodle) and 2 kitties, Moira, who you may have noticed is a little different, she was born without the use of her back legs and has to wear little kitty diapers! don’t let her disability fool you, she is just as quick as the others!😁 Last we have Mr. Jinxy! 😍
I am currently 26 years old and got married to my best friend in October 2020! Logan Studer (thankful to have someone like him who allows me to have all of my fur babies😂 and loves them as much as I do!) ❤️
Outside of animals, my biggest love is music and Nashville TN. Listening to good live music is easily one of my favorite hobby’s! Every year for the past 9 years I take 2 or 3 trips to Nashville to listen to the best live music and go to a lot of cool places 😎

I know that for most of you, your fur babies are your world and it’s hard handing them over to a complete stranger even if it’s only for a couple hours! I want to be more than your dog groomer, I want to be your friend! After-all, your dogs become family the moment they step in my salon! 💕
