What are you doing to prepare for Christmas 🌲?

We let our Oakley have her Christmas gift early. 🎅

We gave her an Embark DNA test, that we sent off on Thanksgiving day.

I will share the results in a week from now. The test results were SURPRISING. Love to hear what you 🫵 think she is for fun.

Oakley is 65 pounds, way active in running and agility, SMART, loves other dogs, people, and kids.

She came to to our home 9 years ago at 2 year old (She is 11-12yr now). She had been in out of homes, and her rescue shelter worked to find her a home for 6+ months. She has been the perfect family dog, and mountain bike buddy. As well a very talented agility dog with a very high drive for the sport.

Fall has arrived, along with the fall harvest and soon Thanksgiving.

It sure was fun to watch this pumpkin grow. Planted where I could see it's growth each day as I was grooming.

I have to say Fall is top on my list. It's not as hot, fall colors in the trees, all the fall harvest, are some of my favorites.

I have been her groomer since she was a baby. It has been so much fun to get to groom her routinely every 6 weeks for that past few years.

As the weather turns colder. Frankie will get to do just what she loves, to snuggle with her owner while reading a good book.

Meet Zoey.

Zoey and I have been in each other lives for over a decade. In fact more like 15 years.

I still remember the first time I met her and groomed Zoey. Her owner did not want her skin showing at all, but wanted a shorter clip so she would be easier to care for. I called Zoey’s owner after I had completed her first bath suggesting we leave her hair slightly longer do to her hair being so thin. Her owner agreed.

Since that day we have done that same haircut routinely every four weeks.

The weekend flew right past, and we were scrambling to find shoes for the kids this morning. I did not want their carpool to school have to wait long.

I'm SO grateful for the amazing family who stop by to pick up our kids every morning for school. Then after the kids are gone I'm able to get ready for my grooming day.

It's a Monday, and it's going to be an amazing week.

Her short adoption story is; her owner was volunteering at the time Billi and her littler came into the shelter. Billi and her sister where taken home as foster dogs. Billi stayed with her foster mom, her sister got a home with someone else in the family.

Before we let the sunny days of summer go and fall come. Let celebrate summer. What was you favorite memory this past summer?

I think I'd have to put our random drive to Bear Lake to see a free concert by David Nail and then we stayed to watch the patriotic
show and fireworks high on my list.

It's been a little bit since the fair, I know. I still wanted to thank all those who make dog 4-H possible for our youth in Cache Valley. Sage had so much fun participating. Next year we plan to be more involved.

If your youth/dog are interested in the program reach out and I'll get you more info. Being a first time 4-H mom, there was a learning curve. I'll do my best to help you, so you don't have to learn as you go like we did.

Not long ago I had the opportunity to travel out of state, to go to a grooming conference and trade show. It was nice to get away and learn more about the grooming industry.

Meeting one of my biggest mentors in person Quinci Cole.

I also must mention that Cache Valley groomers CARE. There where 4 of us in attendance. Three of us are pictured in the last image, along with a groomer I groomed with years ago. Who has moved out of state. All of us interested on improving our skill and business.

Shedding season has come. Our dog is shedding, I think it happened latter this spring.

Is this your thoughts as well, for all my owners who dogs who shed?

A couple weeks ago Oakley (our dog) got to visit one of the last days of school before summer, and be in a pet show. Then a few days latter she got join my daughter Sage for their first day of dog 4-H.

We had to have her looking her best so she got a de shedding bath and brush out.

What brush should I get for my dogs coat? This is a question I often get and I love it!

Finding the right tools for your dog, is often playing with different brushes or other grooming tools and experimenting. If we have not talked about the best brush for your dogs coat, and you have questions please comment below or ask at your next appointment.

Spring has arrived!
Are you enjoying the worm weather and spending extra time outside? Tell me what your up to.

This young man is the only boy and terrier in his family. He has a lot of personality.

Because of the snow we did not leave a long skirt. Check out his face. The Miniature Schnauzer cut brings out the colors in his face.

Snow for spring brake? ❄️ Not going to lie I wish it would go away. We had a camping trip planed for the kids. We thought we find some sand to play in and warmer weather. We decide to stay home, after learning snow and cold weather was in the forecast for the week.

What are your spring break plans? I hope the snow did not stop or delay your spring brake. Soon we will see spring in the weathers forecast, I hope!

As we say goodby to Winter and welcome Spring. I look back over the pat few months. I am grateful for all the snow this past winter.

Where our melted snowman once stood, you can now see green grass. Warmer weather is sure to come.

Another day at work; doing exactly what I LOVE!

I'm excited to announce online booking coming SOON! I will be starting software testing in Nov. I plan to be booking 100% on line by first of Jan of 2023.

This young lady comes to see me every six weeks for her routine groom.

How I love getting to groom her. I have learned the exact paws she would rather not have toughed and how to towel dry her just right.

I highly suggest Routine grooms as often as eight weeks or sooner.
