A year ago Kaitlyn came to me and said she would love to ride in a parade someday. After riding a year consistently working on goals, she made an appearance in 4 parades this year. Michael Hoffer also worked consistently this past year and rode in 3 parades. Parades are not easy to prepare for because you never know what surprises you will get when you show up.

Isabella, about a decade before you were born, I bought your mom’s kid saddle from your grandma, Linda Sancoff and used it ever since. It was such a joy to ride with you and Charlotte to the medicine wheel on October 13, 2024 and see “What goes around comes around” after all these years!!!

My heart ❤️ is so full of Joy when I get to share with you these next photos of my friend, Randee Horyza Bergen, for almost 50 years we have known each other, we met in 5th grade! On October 12, 2024 we got to ride horses together and share lots of memories! Randee let’s do this again before we get too old!!!

Johnny Cash didn’t meet me at gate like usual this morning in fact he was the last one and he made me go to him. When I asked him to lead he wouldn’t move. After he gave me his leg I realized he was injured. When I found the puncture wound, I called Dr Stockton the vet and she suggested bringing him in. After much refusal to load in the trailer, the vet came to me and did an ex-ray. This showed multiple fractures in the canon bone. With the advice of 2 vets and my gut feeling I had to say Good bye to my King of the Pasture, Johnny Cash today October 2, 2024. RIP my handsome boy! I have so many good memories and learned so much from this horse he taught me how to jump and we did our last jump together last Saturday. Thank you Johnny for being a great horse for many just learning to ride. Please share and tag this post with any favorite photos of Johnny Cash!

This Beautiful, Talented and Adventurous Lady, also known as Dandelion Gypsy, Dawn Rohn, (creator of these fancy hats) got back in the saddle again after 4+decades. She started with ground work and a Join-Up lesson to get comfortable being around a horse and then the next day we went for an awesome trail ride. Message me if you’d be interested in a hat class-need 10 participants.

Rachel Ciancio from Washington State demonstrated tenacity by setting her alarm 2 hours earlier to reroute her travel itinerary to avoid the closed Hwy US26 on Togwottee Pass for the Fish Creek Forest Fire. She also demonstrated sympathy to walk with me when my horse HighHopes became noticeably lame on the ride and I decided to walk the last 3/4 mile stretch home. Such a beautiful day in Wonderful Wyoming!!!

Kris Uhl from Minnesota and Jess Pecarina from Riverton, got back in the saddle and we enjoyed a beautiful Wyoming day on horseback.

Thanks Jennifer Frisby and Ayrian Schjoll for driving 19 hours straight after a long day at work to have some peaceful rest and quiet time to work with and ride a horse in Wyoming.

When a young girl travels across the country to Wyoming with a dream to ride a horse, I’m going to see to it she gets it done complete with the best ever, horsey ice cream! Thanks Morgan for finding us at Rockin’ K Riding Stable, LLC. Looking forward to another ride together.

It was an Epic Ride in the Sinks Canyon 8/12/2024 on the Brewer’s Trail with Cade Mortenson/Chester, Jessica Neuswanyel/Big Hoss, Marvin Neuswanyel/ Betty, Ella Bayi/Lanana, Jason Ahuja/Master, and Debbie Kister/HighHopes. We had some trail challenges like crossing a stream and a large spooky rock.

Sometimes I pick the horse for the rider, sometimes the rider picks their horse to ride at our stable but yesterday Johnny Cash the horse took one look at Kaiya Robertson from England and he clearly showed he wanted her to ride him. You may be wondering how does a horse clearly pick his rider? When Kaiya and her dad Tim walked into the barn for the first time, I was asking in my head, “I wonder which horses these two would be best suited, taking into consideration their stature and experience?” Simultaneously as the thought was going through my head, Johnny Cash started pounding his hoof on his stall door as if to say, “pick me, pick me!” I went to grab his halter and while he was still pounding his stall door, I said, Johnny if you really want to go on a ride then put your nose in the halter, so that he did. As soon as we opened his stall door you could just see the excitement in his demeanor. To test this newly matched pair we went to the round pen to do a Join Up lesson and it didn’t take long for Johnny to understand and listen to Kaiya’s every command. Then we saddled up in a western saddle, after a little while Kaiya, said she felt a bit uncomfortable but then I told her that I have an English saddle and offered her to switch. Kaiya’s eyes lit up and we switched to English tack. Then this Johnny and Kaiya duo came to life and both were very happy. The theme of our ride to the Pinnacles today was “You can take the trodded trail or blaze your own trail, you choose!”
