So very true of bullies 🥰
“But why a bull terrier?”
A question I’m asked so many times is why a bull terrier? Until you have one in your life you will simply never understand.
They have a personality like no other animal never mind any other dog. They have a purpose in life, it’s to make you smile while simultaneously driving you around the bend.
They are stubborn on a level you have never met before and if a bull terrier decides it’s not doing it you have to get used to the idea it’s simply not going to happen.
They are trainable but only for a short while, not because they are stupid but because they are incredibly clever. They learn that training involves treats so they drag it out as long as possible to keep getting treats, as soon as you withdraw the treats they withdraw the training.
They want to be close and no matter what size they become they are a lap dog, whether they fit on your lap or not.
Most think they are unusual looking animals, no other dog looks like a bull terrier but they can look so regal when sat upright then all of a sudden look like Eeyore and you try to figure out what’s wrong only to realise there is nothing wrong, it’s just the way they are.
Most of us who have them in our lives have many names, clown terrorists, toddlers in a dog suit and so many we can’t print when, not if, they get up to mischief. When a bull terrier is quiet it’s the time you need to go check up on them.
If you want an obedient, walk to heel, do tricks come on command get a collie, in fact get any other breed of dog and not a bull terrier.
Would I recommend one?
Oh yes, they come into your life to change that life and it’s for the better, you will look down at them as they sleep with their heads on your lap while stroking their velveteen ears and wonder how you managed to get through life for so long without one by your side. ❤️
