🚨🚨 We have updated our website! 🚨🚨 In our downtime during this off season for our market events, Dom and I have been hard at work redoing our website! I have a lot of emails inquiring about becoming a maker within the Shoppe. I wish I could bring all of you aboard our shoppe family, however I really have to limit like products. So if you are looking to be a maker at the shoppe this year I am looking for something truly unique, or something with Michigan pizazz. I want to see a whole package of your craft down to the presentation to the customer. I want someone who is ready to take on the next step of growing their business.

We are still out here!
Our volunteers are tired. We have been out every day since Wednesday and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. The dogs need us, so we will keep pushing forward.
Stuffing dog houses full of straw and moving dogs inside with crates.
The needs are never-ending. We are thankful for all the dogs that have already been brought inside. For the ones still out there, we are coming for you. Please hang on just a little longer.
We are blowing through supplies at an alarming rate. Over $10,000 worth of supplies were handed out in just the last 5 days.
Please help us continue to help them

🐶 That means a One Minute Frostbite warning for humans and dogs with thin coats. Even our fluffiest fluff dogs aren’t weathered appropriately to be outside and are susceptible to frostbite on ears, nose, and toes.

Community Cats are pretty good about finding places out of the elements and close to a heat or warmth source. They’ve been successful for a while and have survived many winters. They have street smarts.

🐱 Your indoor/outdoor cat who has no snooze button when it comes to breakfast should stay indoors the next week.

If you’re new to hobby farming or livestock, know your barn friends need A LOT more calories and water to compensate for the energy lost by keeping feathers fluffed, stomping to stay warm, radiating heat that just blows away, or even shivering. Extra dry bedding for smaller farm friends (like potbelly pigs or goats) and a dry pathway to potable water is very important!

SCCAC will have some DIY activities to keep our furry friends from getting cabin fever.

Today it’s time for a scavenger hunt for supplies you might have around the house:

Paper Lunch Bags
A ping pong ball (or similar cat toy)
An empty Kleenex box
Ice cube tray
Plain yogurt (no artificial sweetener)
Peanut Butter (nothing containing xylitol or birch sugar)
2-4 jars Baby Food: chicken, beef
Canned tuna in water
Applesauce
Gatorade caps
Paper 2-4oz Dixie cups
Muffin tin
A few retired tennis balls
A clean 20oz pop bottle
A 4” Can tapper/can punch/bottle opener
A clickable pen
Empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls

Our favorite brick and mortar boutique and small business bestie, Spotted Nose Designs had their farewell party today as their doors will be closing soon. As sad as we are, we truly believe when one door closes, another one opens! And this adorable little lady and future dog rescuer 😉, deserves all of her Momma’s undivided attention! 👶🏼😍

When I started this company, I never expected become best friends with some of the smartest, most talented, incredibly creative, passionate dog lovers. But it has definitely made our crazy lives so much easier having each other. We made lots of memories at SND and as bittersweet as this is, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of us! 🥹

But enough of the mushy stuff! 🤣
