This was an interesting things to work on today. Even though it was quite wet out, we wanted to make sure to do a sturctured physical activity that offered multiple benefits.
Agility provides: mental stimulation, a relief for boredom, physical movement, proper coordination and of course bonding!

Did you know?! A dogs sense of smell is estimated to be over 100,000 times stronger than a human! So why not use that sense and have some fun. Today was Challenging our dogs while enriching their brains. Today we olaced ten cups down. Of those ten cups only half had treats inside. The goal was for the dog to use their nose to snuff out the cup with the treat and leave the empty ones alone. #dogs #doggydaycare #enrichmentfordogs #scentgamesfordogs #freespirithounds
Todays task was “get in”. This is a trick that can be used towards an AKC Trick title. This was really difficult for some of our dogs today. Some of our softer dogs have learned through this month to trust the process and have actually become quite excited to go out and learn new things. However we saw more struggle with the more confident dogs not wanting to do a more refined and harder task.Something we are considering doing is teaching the dogs tricks here, then hosting a monthly session for owners to come and learn so they can practice at home! Once they are confident enough their dogs can pass, we will hold a a group title class and everyone can show off their skills!! #dogs #doggydaycare #enrichmentfordogs #tricks #freespirithounds
