Taylor and DD will take on the walk trot hunt seat division while owner Siena Parsons moves up to the 14-17 division with her beautiful mare. Many of you have met him already, but allow me to formally introduce the newest addition to our lesson/academy program: KJM The Chosen One aka Calvin! Cal is a 17 year old Morgan gelding with lots of former show experience and a BIG personality-we think he fits right in at Dark Horse already.

Thank you to Debbie Lynn for allowing us to acquire this very cool guy-we promise he’s in for a life full of love and attention!

We’ve been keeping a pretty big secret for a couple of weeks now and finally we get to make this announcement!!

Congratulations to the Jones family on your first horse!!! SKF Jaden was purchased by the Make a Wish foundation for this amazing family when they learned that Vivian’s number 1 wish was to have her very own Morgan show horse!!! “Maximus” is the sweetest 6 year old gelding who will compete with Vivian and Everly in the classic pleasure driving and walk trot divisions in the future! We can’t wait to watch them make memories together ❤️

There will never be enough thanks to everyone who helped us make this happen, but especially Lynn Tucci, agent for Kayla Brown, for introducing us to this unicorn and all your hard work to make everything go so smoothly, Cleveland Equine Clinic LLC for a vet check on very short notice, Dakota and Julia Roy for making the trip to Ohio to bring him home, and for making all the magic possible!

“Don’t forget the school horse that made you.

The patient soul that tolerated your bouncing while you figured out how to sit the trot.

The kind mare that didn’t walk off when you fumbled with the bridle.

The sweet mare that picked up the correct canter lead even though your body was telling her to do the exact opposite.

The saintly angel that never spooked, which is a good thing because your balance was precarious at best because you only rode once a week.

Too often we forget where we came from. We move on to the next chapter in our lives and say, “Oh my gosh, I’m learning so much! I’m going so far! I could never do this on that old school horse!”

But that school horse gave you the confidence to move forward. That school horse took care of you and allowed you to take the time you needed to find your way. You couldn’t have become the rider you are today without that old school horse.”
