Looking for reliable part time barn help!!
We are a busy Morgan show barn and lesson program looking for experienced help with barn chores-feeding, stall cleaning, watering, turnout, ect.

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, and be comfortable handling young horses. Hours can be flexible but looking mainly for weekday morning with some PM feeding shifts available as well. Option to work half or full shifts with more hours available in summer. This is not a riding position but saddle time as well as teaching opportunities may be available for the right fit!

Barn club is back!! All dark horse students and friends are welcome to join our youth group-we meet once per month on a Thursday night for pizza and an equine related activity. (This is an unmounted event). All are welcome! $15 includes pizza and beverages for all participants-please let Caitlin or Makayla know as soon as possible if your child will be attending

Summer program dates are here!!! Our summer horsemanship program is for children ages 7 to 15-no horse experience required!

Each day kids will ride, learn, craft and play with their new friends and our wonderful lesson horses.

Each day goes from 9:30am-3pm. All participants should bring a lunch and plenty of water, wear or bring pants for riding, and wear closed toe shoes!

Cost: $375/week, due upon drop off on the first day.

We learned that today is and while our focus is primarily on the Morgan breed, we couldn’t let the day go by without some appreciation for some of our favorite Arabian and half Arabian horses that have come through our program ❤️

Congratulations to Wendy Mack on her purchase of Troyer’s Potenza Streak! Enzo will be headed to North Carolina to be a part of the Gillian Training Stables program under Samantha Lee Gillian.

Enzo has been a beloved part of our barn family since he came to us as a 3 year old stallion (thanks to an impulse purchase by ). Since then he has competed in classic pleasure driving, hunter pleasure, road hack, and walk trot and carried many riders safely into the show ring! Thank you to Dakota and Julia Roy for sharing him with us for the past 4 years-we hope he brings as much fun and learning to his new barn family as he has brought us. We wish you the best of luck with this handsome gelding and look forward to seeing his success with a new group of riders!

Today was a fun one! We got to surprise with a lease of a Morgan horse for her 16th birthday!! Reese and Smash Hit will be officially teaming up for the 2025 season after getting to know each other over the last few months. We can’t wait to see what the summer brings for her and Mario!

Congratulations are in order for Taylor Braman on her half lease of Newmont’s Delta Dawn for the 2025 season!!! Taylor and DD will take on the walk trot hunt seat division while owner Siena Parsons moves up to the 14-17 division with her beautiful mare. We look forward to watching you both continue to learn and grow with this wonderful Morgan horse! (Big thanks to the Parsons family for sharing DD❤️)

Many of you have met him already, but allow me to formally introduce the newest addition to our lesson/academy program: KJM The Chosen One aka Calvin! Cal is a 17 year old Morgan gelding with lots of former show experience and a BIG personality-we think he fits right in at Dark Horse already.

Thank you to Debbie Lynn for allowing us to acquire this very cool guy-we promise he’s in for a life full of love and attention!
