Telly came to Garlan Henry Britton Animal Sanctuary at the beginning of May this year after we saw that a Chicago area Animal Control was looking for a licensed rescue to take him. He was found as a stray and never reclaimed. His condition? He was hearing impaired, could barely see, had neurological issues, had a growth on his anal gland, and we would soon find out that he also had kidney disease. We got him under the care of our Vet right away, got him groomed, cleaned up the green gunk oozing from his eyes, and loved on him abundantly. We saw his spirit go from being down and out to running and being happy. We know without a doubt that Telly knew he was finally in the loving care of people who weren't going to give up on him. He could be a feisty boy and would fight getting his meds and eye cleaning, but we loved him just as he was. Telly was doing pretty good until this last week. We noticed he was skipping meals. Then he started having vomiting and intermittent Diarrhea. We switched him to meat baby food and he did eat that for a couple of days and then started refusing that. We noticed that he was starting to be very still for us to wipe his eyes even before he completely stopped eating. I told Steve something was definitely wrong. Our Vet got him in right away Yesterday and gave us the news that Telly's Kidneys were shutting down. They gave him fluids and he did nothing since then but have constant Diarrhea. His poor little body had enough. This morning Telly crossed over the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. We don't know who left Telly in the condition he was found in. But we know that he knew he was loved by us and so many of you who hadn't even met him, and some of you who had the honor of meeting him. We gave him the best life that we could given all of his health issues. We only wish he had landed in our arms sooner so that we could have given him more time. Run free sweet boy. No more pain 😭💜
For those passing on Rocksee because of the fact that she will chase a cat, please know that she has never hurt a cat. If they run and hide or slap at her, she'll leave them alone. She really needs someone to step up and care about her. We have our own dogs. We can't keep her forever. She needs to be an only dog, and be fed separately from other pets.
Our little Telly has completely recovered from the nasty upper respiratory infection. No more nasty green drainage from his eye either ❤️ He goes back to the vet on Wednesday for more testing to try and figure out if he has neurological issues, the reason for his stumbling, and to get some bloodwork going. He LOVES roaming the yard and sniffing everything. We just love this sweet boy 🥰
Tea is a very sweet girl who came to us with a sister and brother, Crumpets and Fitzgerald! Tea is still quite shy and doesn't really like to be picked up, but she still would love a human or two to call her own. Once she warms up with plenty of patience, she is very giving of her love and purrs 🥰 She is spayed, vaccinated and dewormed. If you can give Tea the patience and time, and you have a stable life and home, please PM us to request an application
