***Attention: Smiles for Miles customers (formerly Canine & Abel Pecatonica)***
As some of you may be aware an employee of Canine & Abel for nearly 20 years, Candace Morse, is unable to work at the moment. Her son was involved in an accident that required multiple surgeries during his hospitalization at UW Madison Children's Hospital. His injuries will require Candace to care for him at home for a while, along with extensive physical therapy as he heals.
Understandably, she has had to cancel several weeks of appointments and will be gradually returning to work next week. However, appointments will still be backlogged for a while as she works back into her regular hours. To help relieve this Canine & Abel is offering to groom Candace's clients at the Rockford location with all proceeds going directly to Candace. We have opened Sunday, July 17th for Candace's clients only, and if the demand is great enough we can open another day or schedule you for a weekday appointment where we have openings. We would like to clarify to anyone doing a Google search for boarding and finding us, we are NOT a boarding facility. Yes, we are showing up in Google search results, but we do not board. We have spoken with Google about this problem and they claim they have no way to fix this. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please be aware due to the large number of dogs that were adopted during the pandemic, demand for pet services has been overwhelming. Currently (and for the past few months) we have been booked 2-3 weeks out and potentially longer for large and extra large dogs. We do not think this will subside anytime soon and recommend booking your appointments in advance. Because of the high demand, we will be enforcing our policy of a $20 fee per dog for no shows and same day cancellations. Multiple no shows and same day cancellations will require a deposit of the full grooming charge to book future appointments.
