Our camper is too small for the busy kids, thinking about upgrading and also making an occasional Airbnb camp site to help expenses. We’re making an outhouse, and outdoor shower. Putting feelers out there for interest in camping with your horses. (Bring your own travel fence or tie off). Let us know if that’s something you’d be interested in, and what would be your price. Trail property is everything you see here and more

I used to think my psych degree was a waste since I went into nursing. Pulled from the pasture today for the second time in months. He’s such a good boy. Vacation is over Leo ❤️. And gotta love farm time with the babies! One day we’ll get there 😆 very appreciative of our winter weather this year !

We almost rehomed our new silly jenny, she was sneaking under fencing, bucking at the horses, not letting us come near, and keeping me up at night 😆. Then the moment I found her a home she showed some potential and I decided just a little more time. She stays in the pasture and comes right up for love now. Still a work in progress with some clicker training but here she is today, with her new donkey share mama who is so excited about sitting in the field and teaching her about love. Our toddler named
her pretzel 🥨. She’s a keeper! She loves free roaming on the farm and training humans for treats 😄

Great board opportunity.
soft sandy well draining half acre dry lot with 24/7 access to netted and off the ground orchard hay, water and camera view. Quality electric fencing and large 3 sided run in that has stood up well to 3 years of storms. Trailer parking on site is fine. Must be good temperament, I have children that visit the farm with me often. I will hold for farrier (Dennis Sullivan ) every 6-8 weeks and can blanket below 40 degrees if desired (I take them off if it will be above 60) Dry lot is cleaned every two weeks, or you can scoop to lower board. Board will include hay, farrier (barefoot, if you need shoes that will be extra), blanketing, round bale and manure maintenance as well as property upkeep. If you are unfamiliar with us we are 46 acres, private farm in rocky point. 3 1/2 miles of well maintained sandy trails, jump field, a lake beach stretch for galloping, 60 ft round pin, and an on site tack shed. Boarder has full access to property, including tent camping upon request. We have river access in the back of the property if you want to put a john boat in, and fun lakes for fishing, paddle boarding, swimming with your horse, with loads of blueberry / blackberry picking every summer. No public bathroom. There are honey bees on site that farm honey, which have yet to bother anyone but not a match for any one with severe allergy. We do have a marked competition style 20x40 dressage area but no arena fencing. This property is best for someone interested in away from it all natural horsemanship feel.
$400/month for the dry lot. Any trainer is welcome as long as I am aware. We use Raegan equine twice yearly. We do have wildlife as we are open land. Not for novice horse owners, and not a short term fit. With all details disclosed please only message me for current posting we will advertise for pasture board after we have found this fit. Happy holidays! Interviews will be after the new year. References available upon reque

It’s trail riding season! We are great opportunity to get your horse off site before competition in a low key environment with a short haul; or bond with your pal in some beautiful nature. Send us a pm for info if you haven’t already been out. (We also have a marked 20 x40 meter dressage space and jump field in addition to 3 miles of trails). Current coggins only please!

For those who have been out, we suggest trying a sunset ride. 🌅 So beautiful. We look forward to sharing our space with you!

Horses don’t use positive reinforcement with each other. They use pressure.⁣

Right…?⁣

Honestly, this is like comparing apples to oranges, and utilizing it as an argument *against* positive reinforcement is rather nonsensical.⁣

Don’t get us wrong: we are NOT arguing *against* pressure/release as motivator in training. In fact, Maddy teaches it in a refined, ethical way in the Horse-Human Connection Academy (HCA)✨⁣

But to say that horses don’t use positive reinforcement with one another, so it’s not a good training tool, is rather misleading.⁣

It’s hinting that pressure/release is more natural to horses, and therefore a better motivator.⁣

But horses also do not ask one another to canter perfect 20 meter circles, or run a clover leaf pattern at full speed 🐎 THAT is the unnatural element in this equation.⁣

𝗦𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 “𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹” 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲/𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀.⁣

They’re both viable motivators in behavior modification (training), categorized under operant conditioning 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

Plus, horses derive safety, comfort and pleasure from one another. Experiencing strong social bonds is both enjoyable, and essential to their basic needs as herd animals.⁣

They’re not constantly using pressure on one another to get what they want, and they’re certainly not asking for anything outside of the other horses’ instinctual behavior.⁣

They’re grooming one another, regulating nervous systems together, working as a team to scan for predators, mirroring emotions… the list goes on and on.⁣

There’s a relationship between horses that goes far beyond the use of pressure — one that we as humans cannot replace in order to get what we want using pressure and call it “natural”⁣

Training is necessary for horses in our human world…⁣

And using positive reinforcement in your training to create an even exchange of value for a horse’s effort lights her up, and gives her a reason to go above and beyond 🦋⁣

So don’t let the debunked “it’s not natural” argument hold you back from trying out such a life changing approach🥕⁣

Somehow after the storm we found these odd formations of how soft tree trunks fell beside the trails. They look a lot like schooling jumps but we’re just going to leave them. If you’re trailering in you might see them here and there. Somehow in pretty sandy spots, we’re not sure how it happened. 🤷🏼‍♀️ if you choose not to go around make sure you came with a trainer. First of a few I’m sure we’ll find more. 🐎

Today we had a certified equine massage therapist out for a trail ride and some education on assessment for sensitive muscle groups, stretches and massage. Leo was warming up to the situation while Comanche thoroughly enjoyed it 😄

A lot has changed in a year and a half!!! Swipe right to see what it looked like. 😮 Our crepe myrtles along with everything else seem to be doing well! So far we’ve slowly planted 7 pear trees, 7 crepe myrtles, 4 young weeping willows, and transplanted baby cypress trees; all along the entry roads and lakes. Let’s imagine this farm in 5 years when they all get big! All great things take work and time ❤️ we are so thankful !

“Learn to appreciate what you have before time makes you appreciate what you had”. Running some fence line at sunset, getting back to it. 🌅 sometimes you take breaks, sometimes you feel motivated, and sometimes you’ve just gotta wait for things to grow. 🌾🌞🌱

Are you or is someone you know looking to make a change? We are ready to add one lucky gelding in with our boys. Dry lot for now, with 24/7 access to Orchard hay, supplemented with Timothy. Monthly sand clear, and fly repellent through feed. Peaceful, away from it all, vacation vibes!
20x40 marked dressage space, jump standards and endless trail riding on-site (3+ miles of private, maintained, sandy trails). Solar electrobraid fencing, gas powered water pump running to troughs, guaranteed to work during power outages. Oversized and “overbuilt” 3 sided run-in which has a sheet metal roof and telephone pole corners securing it to the ground.
$500 a month, full board, and *open trainer!*
We will be expanding very slowly, so don’t miss out! 🐎
We are interviewing for the right fit horse and owner. Camping, Fishing, River access permitted. Please contact us to come out. ❤️
