Peeves did a great job manning my table this morning while I filled in for another job; he got several comments on his professionalism! 🤩

Oh yeah, and he also did alright showing, I guess. 😜😂 Not many other Eskies today so it wasn’t a big day for points, but he settled right into the environment and strutted his stuff nicely.

On top of that, we had SIX of our dogs take the CAER Eye test today and every one of them passed! YAY! While it was just an annual retest for Minnie, Ginny, and Eowyn, it was the first test and the first big step in our extensive health testing process for Peeves, Barry, and Nika, so we are THRILLED about the good news! Our second generation of parents are on their way to giving us some incredible pups! ❤️

Peeves went to the groomer yesterday and is looking pretty fly. 😎

Unfortunately, he wasn’t feeling very fly this morning, so he didn’t get to compete in the dog show today after all. Mom still has to work at the show, though, so in the meantime, he’s cuddling with Dad and the kiddos. Send some good vibes that he can start feeling better soon!

It will be a busy weekend, so responses might be a little slow. With any luck, we’ll have some very exciting announcements coming soon! ☺️

“Dogs do not COME FROM shelters. Those animals are not produced there. They are not bred, born, or raised there. That is happening somewhere else, and it is NOT happening by accident... Those dogs are being intentionally bred. Our homeless bully breeds were not accidents.”

So much of this article had me screaming “YES!” internally. While I disagree with many of the comments regarding purebred breeders as they are far too generalized, the rest is spot on, and I do understand the intent.

The most important thing that families need from their dogs today is a companion, and we need more breeders selecting for that as well as educated buyers searching for it! The way to fix overpopulated shelters/rescues is by SUPPORTING ETHICAL BREEDING.

We are SO PROUD of Nika and her amazing human, Ruby, who competed in 4-H Dog Junior Showmanship today and ROCKED IT! 🌟

Nika recently came into heat, which meant that they had to wait to compete until the very end in every category. Even so, they managed to sn**ch a blue ribbon for showmanship, a red ribbon for obedience, and a championship for rally‼️They are AMAZING! These girls have worked so hard, and we are honored to be able to claim them as part of the Arctic Tails family. Way to go, Ruby and Nika!

Through no fault of his own, this handsome goober is looking for a new home.

At 15 weeks old, Breeze is charting 18-20 lbs full grown and has a beautiful standard merle coat. He would be the perfect adventure buddy! He is confident, curious, and loves to play. He is food motivated and learns quickly.

He has been with us a little over a week now and is quickly getting back into the routine with crate training, potty training, and leash training. He has also started a Puppy Class for basic obedience skills! If you’d like to make this boy yours, contact us ASAP!

I don’t know how this boy is still available, but as long as he stays here with me, we’re going to work toward service dog training, because THAT’S how incredible this boy is!

If anyone is looking for a buddy to do sports/therapy work/service work with, THIS IS YOUR PUP. He was able to be my demo dog for our first week of Puppy Classes, and he was a ⭐️! I’d love to see him go to a home where he can reach his full potential!

His growth has slowed way down, so he is charting right around 18-20 lbs full grown.

Daddy Luke is officially retired! 😭 I did NOT expect the emotions that came with neutering the dog who has given us so many wonderful babies; it was harder than I expected to drop him off for his appointment. 😅

However, we are excited to continue his line through several pups that we kept back— all of which inherited their daddy’s exceptional temperament! And I’m happy to say that Luke will continue to be an ambassador for the breed, participating in AKC and UKC Rally/Obedience to show what these dogs can do! I love you, Lukey-Luke! 😘

During our travels this past week, we were able to see several of our best dog friends, and it was a much needed reminder of where we started and why we’re here.

Meet Chief. He is one of over a dozen Siberian Huskies that we’ve had the privilege of fostering throughout the past ten years. Chief got into trouble with the neighbor’s cats and, being an escape artist, couldn’t be contained. His owners tried several things before finally surrendering him to one of our partner rescues under threat of city officials. His owners were heartbroken to give him up.

Anyone who knows me knows that huskies are my heart breed; I would gladly breed purebred Siberian Huskies. However, I know firsthand how many of them are surrendered or abandoned in shelters and rescues each day because they are a bit too much for the average household.

THIS is where our goal of creating “family-friendly” huskies comes from. The Arctic Spitz has the potential to offer all of the things that people love about huskies (their sense of humor, their intelligence, their piercing blue eyes and stunning masks, etc.), but in a more manageable package. By breeding thoughtfully and responsibly, we are creating a dog that is social yet loyal, smart AND biddable, adaptable, and (of course) beautiful and compact! We are creating an incredible companion, because after all, THAT is what the majority of dog owners today are needing.

As someone extremely involved in the dog world, I live in a constant state of awkwardness. Rescuers that don’t know me judge me for breeding. Breeders that don’t know me judge me for breeding a mixed breed. But I do what I do out of a love for dogs.

And I am still active in rescue— so much so that our sweet mama Daisy was able to take in four extra nursing puppies that were surrendered to our local rescue and raise them as her own! Rescue is at the heart of everything I do. I see a better future with our dogs, and I’m fighting for it every day.

This girl is also very smart, though a bit more independent than her siblings. 😅 She is easily motivated by food, loves adventure, and will happily settle down at the end of the day to chew on a toy. 😊
