GENE HAS NO SPECIAL FOOD REQUIREMENTS NO SPECIAL NEEDS
SUPER AFFECTIONATE! He came to us with a badly infected eyeball that could not be salvaged. Hence, the good people at UCD Vet Hospital removed his right eye. Unfortunately he experienced a rare complication of anesthesia and chomped off a chunk of his tongue. He has recovered and is now looking for his forever family to slather with loves and kisses. Even as a one-eyed, 3/4 tongue boy, Gene is a mobile, agile acrobat cat. Nothing is stopping this guy, or even slowing him down.

She is affectionate and playful, enjoying her people, her kitty friends and a variety of toys. She came to us as a newborn and seemed very normal until she was a couple months old, at which point her growth stalled and she was in a perpetual state of round cuteness. Lo and behold she is hypothyroid. Easy and inexpensive fix; she takes thyroid medicine twice a day. Ethel has been enrolled in a study at UCDavis vet school, so she will be followed for her first year of life, with the goal of getting her on a once a day dose of thyroid medication. Because her thyroid level is very well controlled Ethel is expected to live a long , healthy life.
Steve and Mr. Apple Pie are a bonded pair and still waiting for a home! These babies have been waiting a month for someone to love. If you’re interested in meeting them, please call us at 916-705-6884. Mr. Apple PieA sensitive but fun kitten who loves to play with his siblings. He is more reserved than his siblings and takes time to warm up to people, but once he does he has a loud, mesmerizing purr and enjoys belly rubs from his people. He loves to play with toys and is especially fond of wand toys. After a long play session, Mr. AP will curl up on the foot of the bed with his person and his cat friends. He would do great with a confident cat friend in a quieter home environment. Steve Meet the cuddlebug and professional nap-taker, Steve! Steve is a playful and loving kitten who likes to spend his free time cuddled up with his human and kitten companions. He can be a little nervous at first around new people, but he warms up quickly when given gentle pets and affection. He loves wrestling with his siblings, playing with wand toys, and running up and down hallways, but when he's done, he wants to curl up and purr loudly for his person. He prefers to sleep in bed next to his person at night and will sleep very soundly after some belly rubs.
All the volunteers are dancing with joy and crying tears of joy.

It's hard for older kitties to compete with young kittens that are up for adoption. These super-loving boys have been waiting a week for a forever family. They are a bonded pair and are our teen volunteer's favorite duo. Their original family made the difficult decision to return them after becoming pregnant and having two other small children. These kitties are so loving and deserve the best home. They are available at the Petsmart on Fairway Drive in Roseville. Come visit them anytime today before 5pm!

Meet Teeny! Teeny came into IBR as a 55 gram premature kitten. One of the smallest that we have seen. From the beginning it was apparent that she had a zest for life. She now weighs almost a pound. Her back legs have a deformity but she’s able to make do with them. She even moves around in a playful manner with the other foster kittens and brings joy to all around her. Teeny was recently evaluated by the vets at UC Davis and it turns out she has a very uncommon congenital defect in her knees. The wonderful vets over there are working out a plan for Teeny. In the mean time she’s a growing, thriving, and happy kitten. #fureverhome #specialneedskitten #tinybutmighty #teenykitten #rescue
At just 7 weeks old, Figaro was found hungry and crying in a field. All alone and confirmed to be an orphan, it took several days for a Good Samaritan to catch him and bring him to Itsie Bitsie Rescue. He was immediately placed with a foster where they’ve spent hours everyday teaching him how to be a friendly house kitty and ensuring he was given everything he needed to become healthy and happy. Figaro is now up for adoption and ready to find his forever home. Find his Bio below! 🥰🐾

We’ve got names from the “Name the Kittens contest” at Blaze Pizza on BDG.
This group of four came from UCDavis and two of them have injuries from their umbilical cord being wrapped on their hind leg. They are eating and gaining weight great and just opening their eyes. They’re already purring and so sweet!
These names were submitted by one of our blanket fairies who had a cricket and spider she lost this year, so it’s super special that those were the names chosen! She has adopted three IBR kittens and will be adding another later this year.
Thank you!
A message from a foster

Elizabeth Stach worked very hard planning, fundraising, shopping, teaching, and learning in order to complete her Eagle Scout project. Elizabeth raised funds, purchased supplies, and taught the scouts at Troop 107 how to make blankets for kittens to take home at adoption. She also worked very hard gathering supplies by making flyers, posters, asking friends and neighbors to contribute to her efforts to purchase and collect needed items to save orphaned and abandoned newborn kitten and puppy lives. She attended a wellness clinic to learn more about the workings of Itsie Bitsie Rescue and delivered so many needed supplies. We are so thankful for her hard work and accomplishments completing her Eagle Scout Project.
After moving her other baby mommy cat left this one behind. The day of the solar eclips. She was brought to Itsie Bitsie Rescue to be cared for.
