"I had this gentleman come by, today, to pick his puppy out. I noticed his hat right away. After he picked his pup, I asked him, directly, if he was over "there." After listening to him tell me about his experience with an IED and the stroke it caused him, at 25 years old, he told me he'd be by in a few weeks to pick the pup up and he'd bring the rest of the money. My response...?....? "You don't owe me anything!" I do believe he's paid enough already. Much respect to him and all who have served or are currently serving, from all of us at SOS Kennels. There's not enough thanks!" ❤️

In the summer of 1923, Frank and Elizabeth Fraser and their two-year-old dog set out from Oregon, Indiana, to visit family. When they stopped for gas at a service station in Indiana, the dog was attacked by other three dogs and fled.
They searched everywhere for him, but in the end could not find him. They returned to Oregon heartbroken, believing they would never see their beloved dog again. After losing all hope, one day their daughter saw a skinny and exhausted dog on the street that looked like Bobby. After his joyful reaction, it turned out to be the missing dog Thanks to the people who sheltered him during the journey, they were able to reconstruct the complete route he crossed.
To see his family again, he crossed almost 2500 miles (4,000 kilometers) in six months. He hiked across the Rocky Mountains in the middle of winter and ended up being nicknamed "Bobby the Wonder Dog." He was the inspiration for the movie "Lassie Returns".🐾

In Argentina, there's a restaurant called: Restobar Dickens, with a sign saying:
We ask all our customers with all our hearts not to be upset by the number of dogs 🐕 (stray) that may be in the restaurant.
We are a pet friendly place and we give water, food and lots of love to these sweet angels. 🐾
I'm sorry if it bothers you, but they're not doing anything wrong, they're just looking for food or shelter. 😔

"Yesterday I adopted the oldest, sickest, and sorest shelter dog. I'll never forget his eyes. When I went into the cage he didn't even bother to look, he knew I wouldn't even see him.
Curling around the corner He'd accepted his fate. The volunteer said to me many times... Are you sure this one? Are you sure? YES! This is my dog. He opened the cage and 3 animals fell on me. I ran towards him, suddenly he looked at me as if he saw an angel... I hugged him and told him that now he'll be happy again. Then he sleeps in my lap... probably the first peaceful sleep he ever had.
Give it a life. Give it a hug. They need us."

While shooting the movie "The Lake House", he overheard the conversation between two costume assistants, and a woman was crying because she would lose her house if she didn't pay a sum of 20 thousand dollars. He deposited it into her account.

The Harpy Eagle is so big, it looks like a human in a costume.
Meet the harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja).
It is one of the largest birds of prey in the world, its wingspan can reach up to 2.5m and weigh up to 12kg. Its claws are longer than the American grizzly bear and its legs are as thick as an adult male's fist. Despite this, it is fragile and due to forest destruction and hunting, it is threatened with extinction.
It inhabits lowland and altitude forests and could be seen from southern Mexico to Bolivia, Argentina and almost all of Brazil. It is currently found only in the Amazon region and in some parts of Brazil.

Willie Nelson Rescued 70 Horses From a Slaughterhouse and Let Them Roam Free on His Ranch
Willie Nelson, the renowned musician has another reason to be loved, he is also a devoted horse lover. In fact, he went to great lengths to rescue 70 horses from being slaughtered. These fortunate horses now roam freely on his expansive 700-acre ranch in Texas.
When he's not on tour, Nelson spends most of his time at Luck Ranch, which he considers his true home. The name "Luck" holds a special meaning for him in more ways than one. In an interview with Paul Venema from KSAT 12 News, Nelson expressed, "When you're here, you're in Luck, and when you're not, you're out of Luck."
Undoubtedly, the horses are incredibly fortunate, and Nelson agrees. He shared with Venema, "My horses are probably the luckiest horses in the world. They get hand-fed twice a day, and they were just ready to go to slaughter, which is probably the last thing they remembered. So, they're happy horses."
Nelson has always had a deep affection for horses. His song "Ride Me Back Home" is a testament to his love for these majestic creatures. In 2015, Nelson even received an award for the music video of his song "The Love of Horses." The video showcases Nelson meeting with members of Habitats for Horses, who were actively working to end horse slaughter through legislative efforts.
The love for horses runs in the family as well. Nelson's son, Lukas, supports organizations like Saving America's Horses and Habitat for Horses. Lukas Nelson & Promise, the younger Nelson's band, have also expressed their admiration for horses through their music.
At nearly 90 years old, Nelson shows no signs of slowing down or shying away from issues he feels strongly about. (Who can forget his album against Monsanto?) When asked about retirement, Nelson simply replied, "I retire after every show. I say, 'That's it, I'm not goin' no more,' but then we hang out awhile and people [the band] feel like playing, and so we go play again."

A pelican made friendship with a stray dog, that visited the boat dock everyday . A man who watched this photographed the picture adopted the dog and he brought the dog to the dock everyday so that they can spend sometime of intimacy with each other..

"He just chose me to be his mom and we go home. I have tried for years to become a mom, but every effort has been unsuccessful. I always pray for a child.
Yesterday a friend of mine told me that there is a puppy that you do not choose ...
"I felt it was the answer to my prayers. As soon as I left he ran into my arms. As if he was waiting for me. Today I became a mom! I do not care that he is a dog. For me, the lives of animals are equal to ours."

I refrain from taking him to the beach for a walk because it disrupts your vacation; you prohibit me from renting a house if I have a dog, and he's not allowed on urban public transport. Nevertheless, I can bring him to sift through rubble after an earthquake, search for you in the forest when you're lost in the mountains without a map or GPS, join you under the snow for forbidden off-piste adventures, and even accompany you in the water despite the red flag when posted signs advise against swimming. You gladly welcome him when you need his support, but not when it's inconvenient for you. After all….” it is just a dog”….
Think again, people. Dogs are better than most humans, they’re kinder, more loyal, love unconditionally and appreciate you no matter whether you deserve it or not.

I lost my scottie to cushings, and never felt right again. I went to the county humane society's website and saw "Bambi." She looked like a lab. But sleeker. Beautiful! I HAD to go see her. I called everything off the next morning, and I was there over an hour before the shelter opened to make sure I was first to get to her.
She was brought in the room with me, and wanted nothing to do with me. She was so shy, scared, timid...she was so hurt from her past. She wouldn't take treats unless I extended my arm all the way out. She walked up to me, got right in my face, and gave me a big kiss on the nose. I HAD to have her now!! I brought her home, and the first couple weeks were really rough with her.
She was so scared of me. She never barked. She was just content laying in a room by herself. I decided to name her "Boo" instead of "Bambi." Felt fitting, at the time. Also learned that she was a Plott Hound, a very unknown breed of dog. We went to bed one night and I was putting her in the crate right next to my bed, and she gave me a look. I let her out, and she slept with me in my bed that night. After that night, she really opened up.
Now we are so happy with each other ❤️

Hey everyone! The weather is getting hotter, how are your pets doing? I found that dressing my dog Milo in summer dresses from the Pet cloth factory not only makes him look super cute but also keeps him cool and comfortable. These dresses are lightweight and breathable, perfect for this season.

Hi I posted a couple days ago about mr fox sleeping in the bed I got him and here he is this evening .
A few of the comments made quite upset me so I want to put this straight….
I’m not doing this for me …. He has been coming to my garden since I moved in 9 weeks ago and is very tame and when I saw him sleeping under the trees all wet and sad I had the idea for the beds.
He is free to come and go as he wants I’m not trapping him or keeping him as a pet
He often brings his mate
I have no intention of moving for years so he will always have me and my partner
In such a harsh world, all I'm striving to do is offer this sweetie some solace to rest his head upon, along with nourishment.
I hope that clears up some nasty comments about me trying to Make him a pet and how awful I am.

Found a baby fox on my dog walk, crying and walking up to people for help. Had no choice but to take it home and it immediately settled into my dog's crate. The fox rescuers are on their way now my good gosh look at that face ❤️

“This little guy lost his parents. I put him on the nearest tree, and he came back to sleep on my lap three times. As night approached, I decided I had to help him. I brought him in, bathed the fleas off of him, and delivered him to the mother squirrel I feed regularly, in the am. After extorting me for almonds and peanuts, she eventually carried him into her nest with her own babies. This may have been the most amazing thing I’ve seen in 44 years on this earth. 🐿❤”

My dogs came into my life when the doctor told me I had cancer. I went and adopted two long time shelter dogs that had thought no one would ever love them.
I went to shelter and seen Rich first at back of kennel like his life was over. I adopted him. Next I seen Ronny and he came up to me and licked my hand. I adopted him.
I felt I needed some companions during this time of pain and the unknown. I didn’t know what would happen but I know I needed love to always surround me and that’s what I found in Rich and Ronny.
I needed to laugh and they make me laugh all the time. I needed to cry and they gave me a soft place to do it. I needed a friend and they gave me a paw. I beat the cancer and I owe it all to them for providing me with all the love and compassion I could ever need.
I love you guys you are my everything!!
