Adoption Alert # 156! Mango the Quaker has been adopted!! Mango is our newest adoption & "foster fail"- which means her quarantine family fell in love with her and decided to adopt her. Congrats to Mango and her new family!

Let's continue $5.00 Friday with our boy Lenny. There are no words to explain how sweet and precious this boy is. We pulled him knowing he had neurological issues but I kept going back to his picture and saying "It just should not be a death sentence for him" For the most part he does well - I call him my wobbly boy because some days he is super wobbly (leaning to the right) and some days not to bad. But the one thing I know is that I will never regret pulling this special boy - he loves his toys and treats and we have an appointment at Upstate with the neurologist on 9/12 to make sure there is nothing that can be done - if there is we will look at all the options and if there is not then we will continue what we are going and let him be happy.
We all know that our visit to Upstate won't be cheap so we will be using some of the funds from this $5.00 Friday to put towards Lenny's visit.

Some of our biggest expenses are parrot foods and parrot toys. Each bird typically tears though at least 2-3 toys per week and sometimes more depending on the quality. Petey says pllllleeeeeaaaaassseee adopt me so that this crazy woman will stop putting these ridiculous hats on me.

Pete’s training has truly paid off. He was able to walk through the woods with no distractions from other dogs, people, and even squirrels. He doesn’t make a peep at the campsite and genuinely just wants to be with his person. He’s AMAZING. He loves the water and tomorrow we’re going to see how he feels about floating ❤️.

Pisgah Pete stopped by the shelter to show his favorite shelter staff allllll of his new manners that he learned at Board and Train! This little guy is AMAZING. 17lbs of pure love. He has aced all of his commands like down, place, etc. He is now on and off leash trained and loves everyone on the Marlow Farm. Now he just needs a family of his own.

Local law enforcement reached out recently about some tiny “biters” that were running at large after their owner had to be hospitalized.
Turns out these little guys are going to be just fine! Chihuahuas are notorious for having terrible shelter presence or acting out when they feel like they need to protect themselves. They’re also one of the most euthanized breeds in shelters.
They’re also super loyal to their owners, usually low energy, amazing lap warmers, are easy to carry around, and are genuinely an amazing breed ❤️.

No more living on his on in Balsam Grove ❤️. Thankful for the people that posted this sweet boy on fb, our local shelter for making sure he was safe, and for Boxer Butts willingness to give him a chance at a better life!

How cute is this guy?!?! Smeagle the Beagle is THE CUTEST!! He will be available for adoption after his neuter next week.

Pros:
-knows sit
-rests well in his crate
-loves ❤️ other dogs 🐶
-loves ❤️children 👧 👦
-has excellent recall
-loves toys
-loves to play
-sounds like a foghorn when he wants your attention (I mean it’s cute right?!?!)

Cons:
-NONE 😍

Smeagle is only 8 months old and is still very much a puppy. He needs someone that can be patient with his energy. He would do great in a home with other dogs that he can play with. He still needs some work on a leash but he’s a smart boy and will pick up on that quickly.
