Crosby - Yellow Male, 1ish, 50 lbs.
Your house is a very very very fine house. With two dogs in the yard, life used to be so hard. Now everything will be easy because of you! (Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young)
Hi. Crosby is my name. Inspired by David Crosby. The superhero rescue ladies at Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno that came for me from the scary shelter gave me that name. I was sooo hungry, probably because I was all alone on the streets for who knows how long, I was trying to be a big kid and survive out there. Let’s get back to what I do know! I am about a year old, and sort of on the smaller end of the Labrador size curve. I fit so perfectly in your lap and it’s just amazing to feel safe. This house thing that humans do? I mean wow!! I had no idea what to do in there at first. Stranded myself on the coffee table. I have never jumped down from stuff before. My foster sisters (they are dogs too) jump all over the place. My foster parents (they aren’t dogs) have me on a schedule and they swear I’m a good boy.
Guess what makes me happy (and I am one happy happy kid)? You do, duh! And tennis balls. And morning zoomies. And tennis balls. Pupcups are magical (that’s a like). Snuggles are almost as good as tennis balls. I can cuddle, and sit nicely with you, as though I’m not even a goofy yellow boy beginning to emerge from pure puppy. One more thing: cars. My foster mom (not a dog), swears I have exquisite car manners. The real story is that I just get so sleepy when I ride, but please don’t burst her bubble. I do need help getting down from the car. I just don’t know how I missed that little dog lesson in life.
I would love to be a forever part of your house and your life. I need to go to school though. I have “no” down to a science. I listen and do the things I’ve learned so far right away when you ask. Problem is, it’s kind of a short list. It won’t be for long! My foster parents say that I will become a stellar gentleman. They talk when they think I’m busy, and they said I have all the right stuff. Sure, I try to play with silly stuff, but when they tell me no, I listen. I’m looking for a family to help me develop the right canine skills and manners. Oh, and please I hope one of you can throw a ball.
Crosby is the dog everyone has been waiting for. A diamond slightly in the rough but almost perfect. Crosby was bitten by a tick in his short time on earth and he was tested positive for Non-Contagious anaplasmosis. This is simply a 30-day treatment of antibiotics. Crosby is dog friendly but there are no felines in the foster home. He will need an active family who will make him part of their team and continue his training. Crosby is an extraordinary “fetcher” – he loves to chase a ball and brings it back most of the time. Crosby is ready to meet his new family and is interviewing along with his foster parents.
