Santa came a little late to K9 Pinnacle this year but it has been well worth the wait. We are proud to announce that we have closed on a lot for the future site of K9 Pinnacle. We are beyond excited for this new opportunity and grateful for this dream to come true. We want to thank the sellers for helping us with this process and for their generosity, without them this would not of been possible ❤
We are looking forward to completing a facility hopefully by the end of this year to help us best serve you and your dog. Stay tuned for up dates!

Dr. Zaius out on the town! Working on socialization in downtown Leesburg; lots of people, lots of noise, lots of hustle and bustle. This was the first time being in a downtown setting and he did great! His parents have been working hard on his obedience and it shows. Keep up the great work Dr. Zaius!

PSA

If your dog is scheduled for grooming pick-up and drop off, please observe the following:
1. Please inform the driver/groomer that your dog(s) gets car sick, does not do well riding in a crate and/or is not feeling well. We can accommodate for the car sickness and if necessary, reschedule the groom to another day when your dog is feeling better. We try to make the whole process as easy and enjoyable for your dog as possible. Adding this type of stress to the experience does no one any favors, especially your pet. Company policy requires that all grooming pick ups and drop off appointments MUST ride in a crate. This is for the safety of the dog and the driver. If your dog has issues with car sickness or riding in the crate, may we suggest that you do not use the pick-up and drop off service.

2. Please make sure that your pet has fully relieved themselves before pick-up. We understand that accidents happen from time to time, especially with young puppies. There is a difference between an accident and full on defecation (I can assure you, we will know the difference). We are groomers, trainers and drivers; we are not responsible for your dog's pottying in the morning. We allow dogs a chance to eliminate during there time with us later.

We have had 3 defecations in crates almost immediately after pick-up in the last week. This is not considerate to our drivers and groomers. Going forward, we will have a MINIMUM $10 surcharge for any eliminating during transport, with the possibility of it being up to $50. Eliminations take time to clean and sanitize. This takes time away from other clients, disrupts scheduling and delays your dog's drop off time. If the issue of acclimating your dog to riding in the car/crate training is something you would like to resolve, one our trainers would be more than happy to help you with this. It may also be beneficial to ask your veterinarian for medical advice on the issue of car sickness as well.

Meet Dr. Zaius! Dr. Zaius is a 7 year old shepherd who unfortunately has a bite history. His parents knew they needed professional help after he recently bit a neighbor. For the next few months, we will be doing in home lessons with him to work on solidifying his obedience and tackle his anxiety. Welcome to the K9 Pinnacle Family, Dr. Zaius!

This sweet girl is Ella. We got a chance to pet sit her this weekend while her parents were out of town. Ella is great off leash and pretty easy going, making this beautiful weekend watching her on her farm so much fun!

What better way to wrap up the weekend than with a trip to Home Depot to work with Storm. This was her first training session out in public; tons of new people, noise, and smells. It can be a lot for a young puppy but Storm took it all in stride and worked through it all. So proud of her progress and how hard her family has worked with her.

This three month old doodle is Kobe. His parents have enrolled him in private in home lessons and grooming with us. Grooming is a very underrated part of training a dog, no matter the coat type. We love when clients start their puppy early with grooming to help condition them to it. This makes the process so much easier for both the dog and groomer.

Happy National Black Dog Day!
Did you know it takes 4 times longer for black dogs (and cats) to get adopted? The generics of black animals being associated with a negative portrayal make them less than desirable then other colored dogs. Remember, temperament is more important than what color coat they have.

UPDATE on Nelly:
Little Nelly did great for her first training trip at Home Depot. She did great ignoring the other people and dogs in the store. We are very proud of how far she has come and have loved working with her.
