We love Shannon Brookfield, each and every pet she has rescued, fostered and foster failed has been blessed with her amazing love for animals. Thank you for all you do! Let’s give her a round of applause 👏

Meet Shannon!

One of the fosters who throughout the years enjoyed helping those that need it the most, the seniors and hospice dogs. Over the years she has fostered close to 50 dogs, the majority from Lone Star.

To make their last months comfortable, Shannon challenged herself to give fosters Glimmer and Dewdrop sub q fluids. Behavior challenging dogs, Shannon has helped them also. Successful in helping find the right adopters for Keifer and Cash, she still keeps in touch with Cash’s mom and he considers hers a second home as she babysits him at times.

Shannon also had her share of adopted pups. “Briar, he was a soul dog to me for sure. Gosh I loved that sheriff so much. Muggles was the sweetest boy too. and of course, Jon Snow! I guess to sum it up, I foster, foster fail, and adopt because of the love and joy dogs give us”. We all loved her stories about her sweethearts.

Yes the dogs are special but so are the volunteers. Joanna, Teresa, Patti, Jan, Kerry the adopters and the special community of doggy folks. All a pretty special bunch with a shared love of these babies. ❤️

Shannon ended her response with “While there are seasons when I am more active in fostering, I have always done so because I feel committed to doing something to help dogs. they give so much to us and love us unconditionally so I why wouldn't I help them. Dogs bring joy.”
