‼️Important Notice: Rattlesnake Vaccine Shortage 🐾🐍
To Our Valued Clients,
We want to inform you of a critical update regarding the rattlesnake vaccine for pets. The USDA has discontinued the license for the commercial rattlesnake vaccine, and as a result, the sole manufacturer—Red Rock Biologics—is currently unable to produce or distribute it. This has led to a nationwide shortage.
What This Means for You:
• The vaccine is currently unavailable. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
• The limited supply of vaccines we currently have in stock will not be replenished. Once our remaining doses are gone, we will no longer be able to offer the rattlesnake vaccine until further notice.
• Your pet’s safety remains our top priority. Even with the vaccine, immediate veterinary care is essential if your pet is bitten by a rattlesnake.
• Vaccine renewal efforts are underway, and we will notify you as soon as the vaccine becomes accessible again.
In the Meantime, Please Take Extra Precautions:
• Keep pets leashed during outdoor activities, especially in rattlesnake-prone areas.
• Consider rattlesnake avoidance training for your dog.
• Stay on designated trails and avoid tall grass or rocky terrain where snakes may be hiding.
• Know your nearest emergency veterinary hospital and be prepared to act quickly if needed.
Emergency Care:
For after-hours emergencies, the closest emergency hospital to our location is:
📍 Crystal Falls Emergency Hospital
📍 1660 Raider Way, Leander, TX 78641
During our regular business hours, we are still available to provide care:

🕒 Saturday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
(Closed Sundays)
We understand this may be concerning and appreciate your patience and understanding. Our team at Mercy Veterinary Hospital is committed to keeping your pets safe and healthy, and we will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
