Hi! I’m Max. I am 3 years old and whew – so thankful to still be here. Last Spring, my mom Mia and I found ourselves in a very scary situation. Our dad got real sick and had to go to some place called Hospice. I don’t know what that is, but I do know that we couldn’t see him, and we were both very sad and confused. We were juggled around to a lot of scary places and both of us just really wanted to go home and be with our dad. The situation for us was looking grim until my new foster dad, Nick, who has this place called Camp Patriot, came to our rescue! I don’t know why people are wary of us because of our size – we really just want to be loved like any other dog. Luckily for Me and Mom, Nick is not scared of us and seeks out big dogs like us that other people don’t want. Although our dad passed away in that place called Hospice, I know that he was at peace because he knew that his best friends – that would be us! – were going to be taken care of. Mom and I are both sad that we don’t have our old dad anymore, but we are really having fun at Camp Patriot! We have lots of land to run and play on, good food and water, shelter when the weather isn’t nice, and most of all, LOVE. Oh, and one of the best new things is that Nick took mom to a vet…er…nar….ian (it’s hard to say that word) and now she is healthy and doesn’t have to have any more kids. I am happy because I want to be her only little, eh, big boy!
Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary provides a place for large breeds that many times are euthanized in other animal shelters. We are raising money to build more kennels for dogs like Max and Mia who are in desperate need of a place to call home. Will you consider a donation to help us reach this goal of $3000? This would enable CPARS to build three kennels and offer veterinary care for new arrivals.
Thanks for reading our story and considering the lives of animals in need!
Love,
Max, Mia, and the rest of the CPARS team and mascots!
