Founded by lifelong animal lovers Nick Jongebloed and Tara Ballard, our sanctuary is more than just a rescue—it's a dream come true, a promise kept, and a commitment to providing a safe haven for animals who need it most. At Camp Patriot, we currently care for a diverse group of rescued animals, currently including 25 dogs, 8 cats, 7 pigs, and 8 goats. Each animal has its own unique story and dese

rves a loving environment to heal, grow, and thrive. Our sanctuary provides that environment, offering both foster care and permanent sanctuary for animals who need long-term support. Hi friends… it’s us — the wagging tails, the goofy grins, the snuggle experts, and the second-chance seekers.
Today, we wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for noticing us.
For sharing our photos.
For cheering when one of us finds a forever home.
For believing that every single one of us deserves safety, warmth, and love.

Some of us came here scared.
Some of us came here sick.
Some of us came here unsure if anyone would ever want us.
But because of you… we’re learning what it feels like to be chosen, cherished, and seen.

This Thanksgiving, when the world slows down and hearts turn toward gratitude, please know that our little paws are saying prayers too — prayers of thanks for people like you who make rescue work possible.

Our dog of the day!

Nacho is a 3ish year-old Beagle with the most soulful eyes ever!

He is a typical beagle, meaning his nose leads the way most of the time, AND that can get him into trouble! He'll need a fenced yard and supervision for a bit as he can be an escape artist! He's pretty easy to find once that happens though...just listen for the HONKING (Beagle parents...you know!).

Aside from that, he's pretty perfect...loving, calm, snuggly and....those eyes!

Meet Simba, our dog of the day! Simba is one of our older dogs at the sanctuary - but he doesn't show it! He loves to run and play like he was still a young pup - but most of all, he JUST WANTS LOVE! He is the absolute sweetest boy, and as you can see, does well with Alani and the other dogs at Camp. He was rescued the day he was scheduled to be euthanized, and we would love to see him in a home of his own for Christmas!
