GREAT opportunity here for those who need it!

UPDATE 11-24-24: The clinic next week is FULL! You may now register for the January, February, and March 2025 clinics. There will be a STRICT limit of 2 pets per household, and only residents of Rutherford County are eligible.
NOTE: 2025 clinics will be held at the Willowbrook offices located at 102 Resort Lane (just off Highway 64/74), Lake Lure, NC.

Friends, PAWS is thrilled to partner with the ASPCA to offer a FREE 2-Day Wellness Clinic this coming Tuesday, November 26th and Wednesday, November 27th at Roosevelt Hall behind the Lake Lure Inn, Lake Lure from 9:20am - 2:40pm each day.

This is NOT a vaccine or Spay/Neuter clinic, but one intended for owners who have dogs or cats with medical issues, minor illnesses, wounds, etc. who are unable to afford a vet visit (see flyer for treatments offered). Each pet will be assigned a 20-minute evaluation slot, and you must pre-register by calling the number below. This is a first come-first served basis so don't delay.

Meet Phoebe 🌺

Phoebe’s story began in an outdoor cat colony, but now she’s enjoying the indoor life and is ready to find her forever family! This sweet, playful, two year-old girl quickly bonded with her suite mate Sophie and has even become best buddies with her little dog friend, Jax.

With her sleek black-and-white coat and those curious eyes, Phoebe is full of charm. She’s gentle, sociable, and loves a good play session. If you’re looking for a kitty who gets along well with other pets and brings joy to everyone around her, Phoebe might just be your perfect match!

Meet Mama Sophie 🌸

This lovely lady came to us the Summer of 2023 at around two years of age, and in October of the same year, she took on the role of supermom, caring for EIGHT adorable kittens. We didn't know she was prego when we took her in, but we welcomed her and her growing belly with open arms, and what an amazing experience it was watching her give birth and be such a great mom!

Now that her mom duties are done, Sophie is ready to be pampered by a human of her very own.

With her striking black-and-white coat and those soulful eyes, Sophie is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate. She loves lounging in cozy spots (as you can see in her photo!), but she's equally thrilled with a bit of playtime. Sophie's gentle personality makes her a wonderful companion who would thrive in a calm and loving home.

Next to the loss of life... the loss of the Flowering Bridge may well be one of the bigger tragedies of Hurricane Helena.

The Rainbow Bridge of Lake Lure, a memorial dedicated to dogs and other pets that have passed away, is no more as it was washed away during Hurricane Helene’s march across western North Carolina.

FOUND

Young kitty...very thin, but has been to a vet recently based on shaved leg and neck areas.

He or she was found in the road at Piney K**b Rd. and Painter's Gap Rd.

He's scared and injured with a possible broken leg. Please let us know if he or she is yours!

He is safe and warm right now!

Waylon the Beagle went to his furever family today, and we couldn't be more excited and happy for him! It's bittersweet for sure, as he came to us in December of 2022 and everyone here adores him.

He is so deserving of his very own humans, and now he has them and it was totally meant to be!

I can't wait to see updates! Congratulations Chris and Waylon!!!

One Of My Favorite Restaurants and also my pontoon boat are gone.

My boat isn't even a 4th or 5th thought when it comes to reasons for concern. I hate that one of my favorite breakfast restaurants is gone.

Sure... I'm gonna miss my "Breakfast Sammy", and the wonderful coffee and occassional shot of bailey's to compliment the coffee.

But dang... the lives that are shattered... employees, owners... prayers for everyone.

***Meet Daisy!***
Daisy is a beautiful 2-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing around 50 lbs. She is incredibly loyal and affectionate, with a love for running and playing with other dogs. Daisy enjoys running alongside ATVs, playing in the creek, going for car rides, and spending quality time with her owners.

Daisy knows how to sit, comes when called, and does great both on and off-leash. She is trained with a remote collar and is both house-trained and kennel-trained, so she doesn’t mind spending a few hours in her kennel if needed. She gets along well with other dogs, though we’re unsure about her interactions with cats.

Currently, Daisy is being fostered on our beautiful 200-acre sanctuary with other dogs, where she loves to run and play. We recommend Daisy for a first-time or experienced individual or family who is active and can provide her with lots of playtime and love.

Phoenix is a super sweet 2-year-old German Shepherd, weighing around 60 lbs. She is incredibly loving, affectionate, and thrives on spending quality time with her humans. Phoenix enjoys car rides, running, playing, going on walks, and splashing in the creek.

She does great on and off-leash, and when indoors, she loves to cuddle up with her humans. Phoenix is both house-trained and kennel-trained, so she won’t mind spending a few hours in her kennel if needed. She doesn’t jump fences and gets along well with other dogs (especially males), though we’re unsure about her compatibility with cats.

Currently, Phoenix is being fostered on our beautiful 200-acre sanctuary with other dogs, where she loves to run and play. We recommend Phoenix for a first-time or experienced individual or family who can give her plenty of love and affection.

Zora is a beautiful 2-year-old Husky, weighing around 30 lbs. She is incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate, and she adores spending quality time with her humans. Zora is also full of energy—she loves running alongside ATVs, playing in the creek, and lounging in kiddie pools. She enjoys car rides and is always ready to cuddle in bed.

Zora is house-trained and kennel-trained, so she doesn’t mind being in her kennel for a few hours if needed. She doesn’t jump fences, and she gets along well with other dogs (especially males). Zora is also great with young children and cats.

Currently, Zora is being fostered on our beautiful 200-acre sanctuary with other dogs, where she loves to run and play. We recommend Zora for an experienced individual or family who is active and can give her plenty of affection and love.
