Camp Patriot Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Welcome to Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, a place where animals in need find safety, love, and a second chance at life. But we can't do it alone.

Founded by lifelong animal lovers Nick Jongebloed and Tara Ballard, our sanctuary is more than just a rescue—it's a dream come true, a promise kept, and a commitment to providing a safe haven for animals who need it most. At Camp Patriot, we currently care for a diverse group of rescued animals, currently including 25 dogs, 8 cats, 7 pigs, and 8 goats. Each animal has its own unique story and dese

rves a loving environment to heal, grow, and thrive. Our sanctuary provides that environment, offering both foster care and permanent sanctuary for animals who need long-term support. Dave update!!

Dave is doing great living in a Veteran community with Ed and 20 other Veterans! He is a registered service dog and gives the Veterans much love and attention, but even Dave can take a day off! He is honoring the tradition of the Sabbath! Look at this sweet baby and how happy and comfortable he is!

Update on Bear:
He is a sweetheart and is settling in nicely at the rescue. There have been no signs of aggression, and we feel he will be fully decompressed and relaxed in the coming weeks!

Previous Bite

Our big boy Bear needs a breed specific rescue to break him out of the shelter. He does have a previous bite. You see, Bear is a giant fluff ball, full of love, but also very stubborn. He doesn't like being told what to do under any circumstances, and he has no problem letting you know. We are asking for a breed specific rescue who has lots of experience with the traits and personality of a Pyrenees. He is intimidating, he knows it, and he will use this to his advantage. With proper training, correction, and patience, he is going to learn to trust, allowing his new owner to navigate him through new and uncomfortable situations. He is going to learn that someone can love him unconditionally, and it's ok to let his guard down.

Fostering these sweet babies for Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue- Rutherford County, NC. Pulled together sanctuary for them on short notice. Karen and her team have come so far with Arya! The little pittie mix must have a lot of reason to be scared.of humans. We will be in his house cleaning up just doing our biz while he comes to know he has nothing to be afraid of.

Dave left us on an airplane and a couple of weeks later we receive Bear!!! This sweet boy is finally catching a break! He was scheduled to be killed on Wednesday! 1000s of peeps saying "Somebody has to do something!", and thats where their contribution ends. Fortunately, one dear soul worked TIRELESSLY for sweet Bear. She found us and we are thrilled.
