Here's another great update on Arrow, now Apollo, about how he's settled into his new home since getting adopted!

Apollo was sadly found tied to an arrow fence, left along and hungry. He was brought into Little Paws Doggie Rescue and immediately needed a haircut. His fur was so long and matted that it was hard for him to see and he was terribly dirty. After he got cleaned up and recuperated, he was adopted into a wonderful new family. It was love at first sight and his new people shower him with love and attention, being the only dog in the house! His new Mom is a church minister, so Apollo goes to church and see all the people at the congregation which he loves. He even gets to watch the wild deer and turkeys from outside the window of the house, which keeps him busy when he's not socializing! He's adjusted brilliantly to his new home and we're so pleased that he's settled in and landed on his feet so well. Well done Apollo and family!

Remember sweet little Angelica? Here's a wonderful update from her family since getting adopted!

"It has been so fun getting to watch Angelica’s personality shine. She may be 12 years old but she acts like a puppy! Since we got her she has gotten to go on many road trips to the ocean and the mountains. Camping, paddle boarding, running on the beach and taking walks where she stops to smell every little thing. Whenever she is unsure of a new activity her sis Bella (8 yr old pit mix) is there to show her the ropes, and always looking out for her. When we first brought her home we gave Angelica her own bed, but she insisted on sharing Bella’s bed with her 😍 and they have slept together every night since.
Everyone remarks on how friendly she is, hopping on laps for cuddles and scratching at your leg for attention. She loves meeting new dog friends as well, she recently met our friends 17 year old def and blind dog Elvis (see pic) and she could not get enough of him 💕.
I always look forward to coming home where I know she will be at the door to greet me with a “gift”, typically a sock if she can find one but she will settle for a toy ☺️.
Angelica has been a great addition to our family and brought us so much joy, we can’t imagine it without her. I am so happy my husband and I decided to adopt a senior dog, we found the perfect match."

Stories like these are why we do what we do - to get as many dogs as we can into loving homes. It's great to see how well Angelica has adapted and how loved she is with her new family. We're so happy for you, Angelica!

Tina is now available for adoption!
Tina is a very, very shy Dachshund, Pug, Chihuahua mix (just guessing). There is no doubt she has suffered some abuse. The first day she wanted nothing to do with me, but she has warmed up to me. She will come up and lay her head on my leg and if I’m quiet and gentle, she will let me pet her. I have been letting her drag a small leash around with her and she now let me pick up the leash and gently walk her around a little bit and pick her up. Today was the first time she let me touch her paws. She is gonna need someone with a lot of patience, but they’re going to get a great, loving, gentle, loyal, sweet and very active little dog. She will need a quiet home where she can get used to life slowly. She loves honey nut Cheerios. She is a sock and shoe thief. She loves all kinds of toys. She has the adorable cute floppy ears, along with the long body and the tail of the dachshund, the head of a Chihuahua and the crunched face and wrinkles of a pug. Someone dropped her off at the Front Street shelter parking lot when they were closed. She sat there in the shelter for over a month in her terribly shy state. Tina weighs 16 pounds, housebroken, crate trained, microchipped, good with other dogs, cats to be determined, two years old, vaccinated, she has not been heartworm tested, will be spayed soon and her adoption fee will be $700. Daboo is available for adoption!
Daboo is quite a talker. When he gets hungry, he lets you know. When he wants to go outside he let you know. He especially wants to let you know when he wants attention and scratching. He loves being scratched and loves to chase birds. He was surrendered by 95-year-old man suffering from Parkinson’s Disease who could no longer take care of him. Dabboo is a Panjabi name meaning spotted. He named him this because that was his childhood dogs’ name. I think he would be best as an only dog or with just one other dog because he wants all the attention and that’s how he’s had it for most of his life. I don’t think cats are a good idea either. He seems fine with people and just wants their attention. He is nine-year-old spaniel mix who is on a diet and should weigh about 22 pounds. He’s neutered, vaccinated, house trained, crate trained, heartworm negative, current on his vaccinations, microchipped and he just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption fee is $500. Betty is a cowgirl transplant from Texas. She is an adorably sweet, spry 12 yr. old senior Pug/Chihuahua mix who was rescued from front street animal shelter. She loves being a Dallas cheerleader as she dances around on her hind legs. She loves the great outdoors, but prefers being with you whether you’re inside or outside. She is a true little cuddle bug. Eddie is available for adoption!
Eddie decided to run for freedom on the Fourth of July and was rescued by a nice woman in a parking lot. His feet were covered in stickers and what appeared to be tar. His ears had fox tails down deep to his eardrums and he had multiple bald patches on his body. That didn’t stop him from being a very sweet little doggy. Eddie is a non shedding, young senior of 9 years. He’s pretty active and playful with other dogs. So far he seems to ignore cats. He’s an adorable little 12 lb. miniature poodle and possibly Maltese mix. He loves the great outdoors. He’s a good alert dog. He does not shed and he’s fine with being groomed. He’s neutered, housebroken, microchipped, current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative and his adoption fee is $500. Thanks to a generous donation, our goal was reached to fund the fixing of our car's air conditioning! This means we can get back to our work of rescuing and helping as many little doggies as we can in the Sacramento area. Thank you so much for your support! Arrow is available for adoption!
Arrow is a very affectionate 2-3 year old, 13 lb., neutered male Llasa Apsa-spaniel mix. His very favorite thing is belly rubs. I truly think he could lay there all day if you kept rubbing his belly. He is so affectionate he loves being in your lap. He is a creamy color with an apricot stripe down his back and apricot colored ears. He was dumped at a construction site and tied to an arrow fence, hence his name. He was so matted that I felt like I was shearing a sheep instead of shaving a dog. He's just now learning what toys are for and finding that the squeak toys are kind of interesting. He's finding everyone to be his friend, dogs, cats, men, women, everyone. He’s looking for a family. You might like to jog, hike, go to the lake, fun things like that. He has no shortage of energy either, but when I’m quiet, he finds a nice quiet place to lay down near my feet. I think he would be a nice addition to any household.

Orange is an adorable little 7 pound silver and tan Yorkie mix. One of her favorite things is gently chewing your fingers and toes. She will steal your socks constantly, but she does not eat them. She is so, so full of energy and will get in lots of trouble, but her personality is just really out there. She's just a real goofball. I was trying to teach her to fetch with sticks and instead she just decided to chew them up. She also has the funniest little bark. She's very agile and really enjoys my agility course. Louise is ready for adoption!
Louise is a very sweet white 9 pound Chihuahua terrier mix. I enjoy rubbing my hands through her 1 inch thick hair. She makes the sweetest little noises when she's happy and content. I think her favorite thing is sitting up on her hind legs like an elephant does. She enjoys cuddling in your lap. She also enjoys wandering around my backyard and sunbathing during the day. She does sleep a lot. She has a cataract in one eye, but that doesn't stop her. She can see fine in the daytime but she does have difficulty at night, but if she tilts her head just right, she can get around at night time too. The only medication she's on is a generic medication for pain that she takes once a day. She's really looking for a nice place to call home for whatever time she has left. Are you that home?

Little Angelica is now ready for adoption!

Angelica is an adorable little 4 pound golden Chihuahua. She is a very sweet, healthy, active, toothless probably 12-13 year-old little girl. I've become very attached in the time she has been with me. She wants to know exactly where I am at all times, but she doesn't have to be in my lap. She just wants to know where I'm at. When she came to us she was emaciated and dehydrated, she actually looked more like a rat than a dog. Now she's starting to look like a beautiful little angel. This is partly due to the woman who picked her up off the streets and brought her to us. We need more people like this woman.
I think her favorite thing is to bring me a toy when I come home. She'll greet me at the door with a toy and want to play tug-of-war. The funny thing is the toys are always bigger than she is. She enjoys sunbathing and she's a good alert dog, but she does not bark a lot. She's p*e pad trained but prefers to go outside.

Bogie is a great dog, but very shy at first. It took him almost a week to warm up to me but now he is a little knucklehead. He has a super fun goofy personality. He will sneak up behind you and pat you on the back with his paws. He crosses his front paws and does play bows. There is no doubt he has had a short, scary beginning to his short life but he bonded with me in less than a week and worked his way into my heart.
At first he wouldn't even wag his tail or look at me. Now he wags his tail so hard sometimes it's just a beautiful site. The way he looks at me it's like he's talking with his eyes. He's learning what squeak toys and he even let me shave him today. I don't think I've ever seen a dog so covered in mats as he was. Bogie is 1 to 2 years old, shih tzu/maltese mix, 11 pounds, white, house trained, crate trained, vaccinated, microchipped, fine with other dogs, older calm kids and will probably be fine with cats. His adoption fee is $500.
