*ANNOUNCEMENT*

Effective immediately, due to the excessive heat warning, we are extending our normal hours (8am-8pm) to 6am-9pm and waiving our after hours fee for all dog walking and p**p scooping appointments to allow our staff to work when it’s cooler and keep our animal friends safe! This will stay in effect at least until Wednesday, July 10th.

Good Morning!
Just a reminder to check your yards after it rains! Mushrooms are toxic for your pups. I found all of these in one of my P**p’N’Scoop yards that I service every other week and these had popped up since I’d last been there. I pulled probably a third of a 5gal bucket’s worth out of their lawn! 🍄🍄🍄

Hi Everyone!

There are a few Foster/Adoption opportunities I wanted to put out there on behalf of a few clients. If interested or know someone who might be, let me know and I can get you connected!

1. We have two really sweet kitties, 12m & 7f, whose mom recently lost her battle to cancer 😞 The family is looking for someone to adopt them together as they won’t be able to keep them. Both are very affectionate! They will greet you at the door and love to get all the petting you are willing to give!

2. We have a husky, 8f(?), who is looking for someone to either foster or adopt. Due to a recent injury, her mom isn’t currently able to keep up with the pup’s energy and give her the attention she needs and she just wants what’s best for her furbaby. The pup is very energetic and is an absolute sweetheart! She LOVES her walks. She is currently the only dog in the home but her mom says she does get along with other dogs.

3. We have 2 kittens, one female and one male, who are littermates. Not sure the age. Posting on behalf of a client’s neighbor who mentioned to me that he’s currently fostering for his daughter who I think works for Animal Outreach, but is looking for someone to adopt these sweeties!

Ran into a few hiccups, so we are working on fixing a few more things before launching the new system. That said, we plan to send out welcome emails next week!

We have some exciting news!! We have been working on getting a new system set up that will include a Pet Parent Portal, which will allow our clients to easily view invoices and appointments, book appointments, update their information and more! It also will help keep our staff more organized with our scheduling! The new system should launch this Thursday, June 29th!

If you are an existing client, you should receive an email from PetPocketbook that afternoon to get you set up, so be on the lookout!

As the weather warms up and more of us are out walking our pups in public, please remember to respect others space!

It happens way too often that we are out on the trails with client’s pups that people approach with their dogs without permission and allow their dogs to get up in our client’s dogs faces. This is a huge liability for us and a huge safety issue for the dogs, both yours and our client’s. While we already do our best to avoid contact with other dogs, often clients also specifically mention to keep their dogs away from other dogs because they don’t do well with others. So allowing your pup to approach without permission can be a big issue. Even if they are both wagging and acting friendly, accidents happen.

We ask that when you are out with your pups, to please respect the space of others since you never know what could happen and accidents can be avoided!

I have a fun thing to share with you guys! I adopted my pup Maggie last summer and knew she was a lab, but I have been trying to find out more since her coloring is more red than a standard yellow lab and she has a pink nose!

Well, I just discovered that my Maggie is a Dudley Lab (first picture)! I saw a post yesterday of another pup that looked just like her (second picture) and commented back and forth with the owner. They referred me to a Dudley Lab group and oh my gosh!! There are so many that look like her (like the pup in the third picture)! I just posted to the group and have gotten confirmation from everyone (along with pics of their pups) that she definitely is.

Dudley’s lack melanin in their noses, eye rims and paws, which make them pink instead of normal black or brown. From what I read they sometimes will have blue eyes too, but a lot of the pups on the group have amber eyes like Maggie does. Being a Dudley is actually a rare natural genetic condition, but doesn’t effect their health at all!

Today while taking care of one of my doggo friends, Piper, we heard rustling in the bushes and when I looked over a turtle emerged!! I’d never seen it at that house before but upon asking the owner I was introduced to her sweet turtle Betsy of 26 years. Little Betsy followed me and Piper around the yard during the whole visit. Totally precious and made my day!

As many of us get ready to celebrate Easter this next weekend, please be careful of which floral arrangements are used to decorate! Lilies are fatal to our kitty friends and are very commonly used in arrangements around this time of the year.
