Introducing 's next service dog, Kamakaʻikeʻaliʻi; named to honor "Papa K" and to help Suzi navigate the next series of challenges ahead. The breeder says that he's calm and a people-pleaser. He is scheduled to come to California and begin training at the end of July.

These past months without Kekoa have been incredibly difficult. I hadn't fully realized all he did for me until he was gone. I won't pretend that another service dog can ever fill his unique role, but I am preparing to try. I hope to welcome a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy at the end of July.

Kekoa had a strong aversion to Bernese Mountain Dogs after one attacked him as a puppy. From that time on, he would react fiercely whenever we encountered one, regardless of whether it was the same dog. I truly hope that Kekoa will understand and not be upset with me for choosing a Bernese Mountain Dog as my next service companion.

Kekoa Kealiʻi, born on February 5, 2014, in Tobaccoville, NC, and departed on January 7, 2024, in Berkeley, CA on his own terms.

Kekoa, a Tibetan Mastiff, wasn't just a service dog—he was Suzi Ko 's unwavering companion, closest confidant, and steadfast protector.

From a grumpy lion to a fluffy bear, his larger-than-life personality brought calm and laughter to our chaotic days.

Kekoa found joy in road trips and reveled in his adventures at his happy place - Disneyland, both parks and the Disneyland Hotel.

Whether it was a lake, stream, swimming pool, or fountain, he'd be at the heart of it; yet, if rain fell, he'd sprint for shelter.

A devoted PupScouts and a vigilant defender of squirrels, Kekoa's taste buds delighted in the flavors of In-N-Out Flying Dutchman and Starbucks puppuccino alike. His absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

This weekend has been tough for Kekoa. He's a huge fan of fireworks, but when he can't see them and only hears the loud booms, it makes him feel scared and grumpy. Let's all remember to be considerate of our furry friends during this festive season. 🐾🎆

An everyday occurrence for us at the Holistic Honu Wellness Center. He works so very hard!! Poor little guy😢 he doesn't get to have fresh Bartavelle Coffee & Wine Bar treats or The Acme Bread cheese twists everyday 😭 🤣
