Princess update:

She’s doing amazing after her surgery! Cats are extraordinary with their healing ability. She had her surgery on Friday and within 24 hours she’s already up and walking, eating, happy etc. The hardest part about these amputation surgeries is keeping the kitties still enough to heal! We will keep her on pain meds to keep her resting. If it was up to her she would be romping around with her buddies already!
Thank you again to all our supporters that made her surgery possible!

Remember Precious? We rescued her a few months ago because she had a broken leg that was dangling off of her. We are happy to report she finally weighed enough to be able to have her amputation surgery yesterday and it went very well! She is resting comfortably and she is being monitored closely by Nurse Kim. We will update you with pictures soon.
THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS!

Mission Meow will be launching an exciting program. We will have a whole division dedicated to saving blind kittens! More on that later, but first meet Ray!

😻Mission Meow Special Adoption Available😻
Introducing RAY!

Ready to meet kitten purrrfection? This guy is seriously it! Meet sweet baby Ray, what a catch he is! This darling little sweetheart came into the care of a foster mom with lots of experience with blind cats and kittens. We treated his poor crusty & permanently damaged eyes for a few weeks until he grew big enough for double enucleation (eye removal) surgery (& his neuter). Fortunately Ray recovered quickly and easily without any issues whatsoever, thanks to our very skilled Doc Brockman at PCAS. The vet removed what was left of his scarred and compromised eyes, and now he will have a full life, free from future eye problems. Ray has been healing and thriving in his foster home, and he even picked up a foster playmate his own age along the way. Sweet baby Tiger is now his best mate and is also available for adoption, they would be thrilled to be adopted together. Ray is fully recovered from his double enucleation surgery and is doing fantastic now. Ray has a wonderful life ahead of him as a cherished inside-only kitty as your possible new family member. He’s patiently waiting for you to come meet him and fall in love. Believe me, it will happen instantly once you meet this charming little fellow. Ray is a serious cuddle bug with the sweetest disposition you’ll ever meet in a kitty.
Ray may be blind, but it doesn’t slow him down in the slightest. Ray is absolutely perfect in every way, besides having no eyes, or ‘neyes’ as we like to call them. He had a very bad eye infection as a newborn and never had any sight. He knows only the world that his fosters have provided for him, which is nothing but love and affection. His personality is a mirror of that care and dedication. Ray is the sweetest, loving, darling 16 week old kitten that you’ll ever meet. His personality is what everyone is looking for in a kitten. Ray’s foster family has blind cats of their own, which has taught them that there’s almost no difference in having a blind special needs kitty. All of their visitors stare and watch in amazement as their fully capable blind cats greet their guests, beg for treats and pets just like any of their other sweet cats. Our foster and her hubby have done a fantastic job of socializing and preparing Ray for a forever home with a loving new family. Ray has not been around dogs or children yet, but with a proper introduction, we’re sure they’ll will be fast friends. Ray has taken to two of his foster’s resident adult cats, including one of their own blind cats. Hopefully you have another animal at home that he can pal around with. Ray has a built in support network if socializing him into your home doesn’t work out. His foster family is extremely committed to him and his future, and will work with you to make sure he’s a good fit in your home. Ray is a domestic short hair black kitten with a super soft coat with some wispy white fur (from his infant fever coat) that will probably fade as he grows up. He has the softest, most luxurious fur coat that will make you never want to stop petting him. He’s stalky, soft and squishy just like every healthy kitten should feel. Ray loves kisses and snuggles with his foster parents, he can’t get enough love and attention from his foster family and their visitors. Ray is an extremely charming little guy who is ready for his forever home, and he’s ready to steal your heart. Please fill out our application to start the adoption and meet and greet process with Mission Meow Cat Rescue and Adoptions INC.

How cute! So lil’ dude here and his brother need to wait a bit longer for adoptions because they are cryptorchid. Translation: neuter is gonna be way more expensive!! Good thing they’re cute! You just never know when you intake kittens how much they’re actually gonna cost -we thought this would be a really easy litter because they came with their mom and are super healthy but sure enough… they find a way to surprise us 🤪😹. Good thing we have super awesome monthly donors who ensure we are able to continue rescuing these precious little guys.

Real definition of cryptorchid is in the comments.

*Available for adoption* Introducing TIGER
Looking for a new love in your life? Need a cuddly and handsome guy, you found him! This cute little ball of fur is your best choice for a new furry love muffin! Tiger will cuddle and purr so you can both drift off to sleep together peacefully❤️
Tiger is a three month old sweet and purrrfectly silly kitten. He is a short haired tabby with very unique tabby stripes and coloring. He is a very happy and sweet little guy with a fun and gentle disposition. Tiger loves his people and will come running to you when called, he’s a people kitty that doesn’t mind meeting new friends. Tiger’s favorite thing to do is to cuddle, he is constantly climbing into his foster mom’s lap for some love and scritches. Tiger loves to snuggle close up under your chin and drift off to sleep in your safe and loving arms.

Tiger has a very interesting rescue story- His rescue story was kismet, he is one very lucky little boy that was found in the middle of the road one night, by a chance cat-friendly couple on vacation driving through Fresno of all places! The couple nearly ran him over, but luckily saw him in the nick of time and stopped to scoop him up. The next morning they checked with the local shelter, which was unfortunately full at the time. The couple had no choice but to continue on their vacation with a new furry passenger in tow. Tiger and his rescuers drove north on their planned vacation and as luck would have it, they ran into a sweet lady feeding feral cats the next evening. They discovered that this sweet cat lady also fostered kittens for a local cat rescue. Fortunately the timing worked out purrrfectly for little Tiger to join Mission Meow, get all his medical needs met, and have a safe and loving home to grow up in foster care. For the scary ordeal that Tiger went through as a tiny tot, you would never know it!
Tiger picked up a new buddy his age along the way in foster care. It just so happened that an amazingly sweet and cuddly blind kitten named Ray, needed another friend to play with. The two kittens hit it off quickly and became best buds. Believe it or not, blind kittens like Ray, can live wonderful lives as indoor only kitties. You’ll be absolutely amazed every day watching Ray navigate through the world, almost effortlessly. These two darling boys, Tiger and Ray, would love to be adopted together if you happen to be in the market for two outstanding kittens. You will not regret it, two kittens are truly better than one. There’s lots of literature and studies on why adopting two kittens at once is much better than adopting a single one, both for your benefit and theirs. Google it🐾
Tiger loves to play with his best buddy Ray, with soccer balls, wand toys and anything else he can chase. Tiger has learned to come when we whistle, which means it’s time to eat! It’s also a handy way to find missing kittens in your home when they disappear for a nap somewhere small and cozy, after a long play session with you. Tiger is a very smart and polite little guy that has also learned what the word ‘No’ means. It comes in handy as you acclimate your new kitten into your home.
Tiger has been around adult cats in his foster home, but has yet to be introduced to dogs or children. With his easy going personality, Tiger will adjust easily to a new home with other pets, and be friendly with the smaller variety of humans too. Just be mindful for a proper introduction for both your resident pets, and for Tiger’s sake.
Tiger is ready for his forever home and to be scooped up into your loving arms. Please consider meeting both him and Ray and giving these magnificent wee beasties a family of their very own❤️🐾

I tell ya -it’s feast or famine with adoption spurts!
Axel & Achilles were adopted together to a fabulous home! We appreciated that the Adopter listened carefully to our suggestions regarding getting a pair and who we think would be best. We often have people come to us with preconceived notions as to what they want in a kitten but when we explain what would work best for their household dynamic, they see the wisdom of that. We’ve been doing this for decades and thousands of cats between us adoption counselors so we really know the trends and what will be the best set up for success.

Black and White Tuxedo Seeking His Forever Home

Meet Finn! On a very warm summer day, this handsome young kitty was rescued near an office building where he had been wandering around for a few days just looking for some attention. After his microchip was scanned by a local vet and his owner located, it was determined that the owner was moving, and sadly this kitty needed a new home as she couldn’t take Finn with her.

Finn is settling into his foster home very well considering the circumstances. He is a perfect gentleman with an outgoing and friendly personality! He loves companionship and is so affectionate (he likes to snuggle and may even give you a hug and kiss after a vigorous play session). He is also driven by curiosity, he likes exploring new places and opening drawers or cabinets just to have a look inside. Other endearing qualities include greeting visitors, showing off by zooming around with kitten-like energy, chasing various types of balls, jumping high for a fishing pole toy, and playing with water.

This special boy needs a forever home that will give him lots of TLC and attention. He will show how grateful he is by giving your family companionship and entertainment. He gets along with cats, but it is unknown if he has ever been exposed to dogs or small children.

This kitty was born on 3/27/23, and has been neutered, has had all appropriate vaccines, has tested negative for FIV/feline leukemia, is de-wormed, and microchipped. For more information, text Janet his foster mom at 916-791-63 eight seven.

😻ADOPTABLE 😻 PLEASE SHARE !

Ares

My life started out a little rough as I was homeless with my siblings and my parents. We lived at a high school and my parents scavenged for food for all of us. Then one day that all changed and my siblings and I were caught and placed in foster homes and were told that our futures looked bright. My mom had surgery so she couldn’t have any more babies and was taken back to the school where she patrols for mice.

It took me a while to understand that I was safe but my foster mom kept reminding me that everything was okay and that the humans that cared for me, and my siblings, were okay too. I have come a long way since I arrived at my foster home. I play with toys, run around my foster home and play with my brother Hermes and the other kittens at my foster home. And I have to say, I have become very fond of the boiled chicken that my foster family frequently gives me as treats.

I absolutely love attention and cuddling with my foster family. I even get to sleep with one of my foster moms at night. I take sleeping with my human seriously, and check on them regularly to make sure they are safe and warm. I have a pretty loud motor and purr a lot when I’m happy. I will often seek out someone and start purring loudly for attention, which nobody can resist. I make friends pretty quickly with other cats if they are nice like I am and they like to play.

It takes me a little while to get comfortable around new people or new environments, but if you have a little patience with my you will be rewarded with a purring cuddly companion in no time. To make my transition to a new home, and new family, easier for me my foster family would like me to get adopted with my brother Hermes. Hermes and I help provide comfort for one another and knowing that we will always be together makes me very happy.

My foster family says that I am ready to move out of my foster home (with Hermes) to be with my new loving family that will be gentle with me, care for me, and give me as much love as I will give them. I can’t wait to meet my new family!

Hermes

Well I have been at my foster home for a while now waiting for my new family to come and meet me, and my brother Ares, and take us home. I know that when you see how handsome I am you will want to immediately take me home, but I have to share some things about me first.

I am an expert high jumper and can even do some mid-air flips when I am playing with my favorite wand toys. The other kittens know to stand back because I can get pretty wild when I play. I like having my foster mom play with my toys with me so I can show her how fast I can run and how high I can jump. I like to explore and check out what is going on in other areas of my foster home to see what kind of hidden treasures I can find, like perhaps some boiled chicken!

I am also quite the talker! I will let you know if I'm unhappy with something or require more attention by looking directly at you and belting out a meow! And if that doesn’t get your attention I will repeat myself. Something that really makes me happy is getting belly rubs. I will let you know when I am ready by stretching out and rolling over. You can then start with the belly rubs while I purr peacefully.

I can be opinionated when it comes to meeting new cats, and sometimes new people. Friendships are not forced and good friendships take time to establish. So, keep this in mind when we meet. Just give me some time to approach you and see if I want us to be friends. The same goes if I am being introduced to another cat, or perhaps a mellow cat savvy dog. Give us all time to get used to one another before you expect us to be best friends.

Right now my best friend is my brother Ares, and Ares and I need to be adopted together. With all of the changes that could be in my future it will be nice knowing that one thing will be constant…and that is my brother Ares. Ares and I are a package deal and we are hoping that the perfect family is out there that will want to take us both home and give us the best life possible.

They are fully vetted for their age, litter box trained and just over four months old.

😻Happy ending alert!!!😻

Do you remember the tragic story of Jonti and Christopher who were adopted to a wonderful lady who found out she was terminally ill just weeks later? Well, our amazing volunteer Carol went to pick up the kittens to be returned to us for re-adoption. After a few months of zero adoption inquiries on Christopher and Jonti, our volunteer could not get them off her mind so ….. she decided to adopt them! 👏🏻👏🏻
Let’s just say these kittens have hit the absolute jackpot when it comes to a home- they are completely spoiled and adored! Our volunteer has a 16 year-old resident kitty at home so it was very wise to get two kittens so they can entertain each other and not pester the older kitty. And because of their adoption, we were able to have room to take more kittens! 🧡🧡

Our hearts go out to their original owner. We’re very happy that this sad situation has a happy ending for Christopher and Jonti. We are so incredibly grateful for our volunteer Carol who has been such an essential part of our rescue! We don’t know what we would do without her! 😻

These ADORABLE four month old kitten siblings are ready to be adopted! They have matching but reversed mini beards too 😂

🐱 Hansel Bio:

You might have noticed that I am a handsome little guy, and my sister Peep looks a lot like me but she is more petite. We like playing together, running around our foster home, and sucking and kneading on our security blanket. I am quite the talkative little guy. This will come in handy when I start my career in politics. Nobody understands what I am saying but I like to talk anyway.

My foster home is great, it’s quiet and they have some big cats here for me to torment. Well, I’m pretty good about understanding when they don’t want to be bothered but I still like to hang out with them and try to chase them. I get a lot of visitors (I’m pretty much a celebrity here), but what would make me super happy is if my family would hurry up and get over here and adopt me and Peep.

I enjoy spending my afternoons hanging out on a cat tree watching the birds and humans outside, taking a cat nap with my sister and our foster mom, or playing with Peep and the other kittens at my foster home. I am a fan of the wet food, that I get twice a day, and the boiled chicken that we get as treats. That is some good chicken! During my time in my foster home I have learned how to play fetch with a particular orange toy and this toy should go home with me. If my foster mom forgets to put it in my bag she will be in the dog house, or the cat house, or wherever humans go when they are bad.

I have been a little sad since my foster mom let my two brothers get adopted without me. It’s not fair that I am still waiting for my family to come and adopt me. The good news is that my sister is now here with me. Since I missed my brothers so much my foster mom said that I need to be adopted with my sister. We (Peep and I) both like that idea a lot. Peep and I have our own bond and we help each other through stressful times.

So now that you know a little bit about me please don’t make we wait too much longer before you come to meet me. Life is too short to not have me in it. I know my foster mom is going to be sad when I go home but she knows that my home and family are out there somewhere and that is where I should be. Other kittens in need, like I once was, are waiting to come to my foster home but they can’t until Peep and I get adopted. Why not make today the day! Come and meet me and Peep, fall in love with us, and take us home and spoil us rotten.

🐱 Peep Bio:

I am a lucky girl because I get to be adopted with my best friend, and brother, Hansel. I am a super affectionate, silky soft kitty companion but I am not as confident as my brother so sometimes unfamiliar noises scare me. Being with my brother makes me feel safe and allows me to feel comfortable so I can be a happy playful kitten.

I am a quiet girl, unlike my brother, and I like hanging out with my foster mom getting as much attention and cuddles as possible. Hansel and I like to play together and he is teaching me to be more confident. I like to take cat naps with my foster mom and Hansel or find a nice quiet place to sleep. I like being up high on cat trees, watching Cat TV and am an avid player and wrestler.

I am hoping for a less active home so I can easily adjust to the new environment and blossom into an even more affectionate kitty companion. My brother is protective of me and will come running to my side if he hears my distress meow, which happens when I can’t find him or my foster mom. Hansel and I are a good team and I’m very excited that we will get to grow up together.

You will notice that Hansel’s bio is a lot longer than mine because he is quite talkative, as I am sure he mentioned. Hansel and I have our kitty bags packed and are ready to go home! We are an adorable duo of fun-loving kittens that are anxious to move into our new home and be with our new family.

They are fully vetted for their age litter box trained, and have been raised on high-quality nourishing food!

😻AXEL ADOPTABLE 😻PLEASE SHARE😻

Well it’s about time that I moved out of my foster home and into a permanent home with my own family. I am really enjoying my foster home and I bet my new home will be even better. My foster mom says that must be a mix of Maine C**n (because of my personality and looks) and Trash Panda, because of my eating habits. I know, right now you are trying to figure out what that looks like….so let me explain.

My foster mom tells me that I have similar characteristics to those big handsome cats called Maine C**n cats. I like to be around my foster family at all times. I will hang out on the couch or bed with my foster family and sometimes I like to lie on my foster mom’s chest while she is lying on the bed. I absolutely like attention of any kind (petting, brushing, being held and carried around). I am very gentle when being handled and when I play. Now don’t get me wrong, I can take on all of my foster siblings and often instigate the wild wrestling matches. I have bursts of energy and then I like to chill and relax…maybe take a quick cat nap in a sun beam.

I love the water fountains (all four of them) and I like to lie near the shower when someone is in there so I can hear the water running. Sometimes after the water stops I jump inside and lick up some of the water. It might take me a few minutes to warm up to new people because I have to do a full background check with facial ID before I let you see me. It doesn’t take long so just be patient and give me a few minutes to show myself.

I am a pretty quiet guy and when I do have something to say I have a very soft meow. Not an ear-piercing meow like some of the big cats at my foster home. Now, the one time you can guarantee to hear me is when my wet food arrives! Speaking of food…..

I can be somewhat of a scavenger when it comes to food. I love food! I love wet food more than dry food but I eat both. I am constantly scanning the floors for little treat gems. When I get to go downstairs I immediately run to the places where the big cats eat their wet food so I can see if any bowls are still there, or if they left any crumbs on the floor. I then make my rounds to where their dry food is kept and have some snacks. This routine never gets old. My people say I have PTSD from when I was scavenging for food at the car repair shop, where I was found.

When my foster mom is standing by the sink I know she is preparing food so I gently rub my soft furry body on her legs and then stand there and wait. AND I love wet food so much that I purr while I’m eating it. Life is good when you get wet food.

I have a chill vibe and that is the kind of home I am seeking. When there is a lot of commotion I quietly excuse myself and find a quieter place to hang out. I’m not being unsocial, it’s just that, like I said, I’m a chill kind of guy. I get along great with other cats and I will need a friendly kitty pal to play with and to keep me company. I am still learning about a cat’s personal space so I kind of get right in their face to sniff them and if I get hissed at I just lie down and stare at them. I guess I’m not a quick learner when it comes to understanding personal space.

I will never win any awards for being the smartest feline that walked the earth and my foster mom has said that I’m not always firing on all cylinders, but I keep telling her that that is my chill vibe she is experiencing… so we agree to disagree on exactly how smart I am. As I get older I just might surprise everyone. My foster mom says that I remind her of her Maine C**n Mix rescue kitty that she used to have. He was a big goofball and she loved him very much.

Are you ready for a handsome goofball in your life?

Yay! 10 adoptions this past week! That meant we could take in Burney as in Burnt Toast. Gotta love it when kids name their foster kittens. Apparently he’s a real lover. When his rescuer asked us a few weeks ago if we could take him in, we had to say no until we could get some adoptions going. There’s a fine line between rescuing and hoarding, and we never want to cross that.

These girls are a SWEET as their names!
Their very experienced foster mom says it’s one of the best batches of kittens she’s ever fostered !

Vanilla Bean-
This little baby is so cuddly and sweet. "Nilla" is very loyal, and she will latch onto her person with gusto. She loves to curl up on a lap or next to someone on a couch to purr and fall fast asleep. She often gazes into people's eyes and nibbles and licks their hands. She has such a mild disposition. Some sounds make her hide, but only for a minute. Then she pops back out to play and cuddle again.

Sherbet-
Sherbet is a very fun and lively baby girl. She is very active and loves to play with her little sister, Vanilla Bean. They are an incredibly close and bonded pair. They are often grooming each other, and Vanilla Bean let's her "attack" her playfully. Sherbet likes to weave around your legs to make sure you know she's there. She is tolerant of most sounds and normal household bustling, some things may startle her but she is quick to come back out to investigate the action.

These girls are fully vetted for their age, litter box trained, and absolutely amazing! Application link in comments.
