👑⚜️ King Cooper 👑⚜️

This sweet, affectionate and gentle big boy finally got his day at the vet today for his eye and itchiness! He made quite the show today, and convinced them he needed a LOT of churros, little stinker. He was the easiest, most laid back vet-goer yet! ♥️

We got some new meds to try this week for his eye drainage and for his itchy skin, and hoping it works good! This boy is BEYOND ready to find his forever home he can be the king of, lounging in the sun all day and enjoying couch time. Hopefully we can get him healthy soon enough! 🐱

💫 Meet Silas! 💫

Silas is a playful, sweet boy who has overcome so much in his young life. He came to our rescue with a severe leg injury and is now a proud tripod kitty — but don’t let that fool you! Silas doesn’t let anything slow him down. He runs, jumps, and plays just like any other cat, especially when feather wands or chase toys are involved.

This handsome boy is also very affectionate and loves to “chat” with his humans using his cute chirps and meows.

Silas would thrive as the only cat in the home, or with one easygoing, non-dominant kitty companion. He prefers to be the king of his castle- including being king of toys, treats, and affection! 👑

For his comfort, Silas would do best in a home with older children (no young kids) and no dogs.

We hear it every week:
“Can someone come trap these cats?”
”𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆? 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲. ”

We understand.
Most people don’t realize what goes into TNVR they just think it should be “free” and that someone else can handle it.

But here’s the truth:
That “free” service you’re asking for?

Every trap, every can of food, every drop of gas costs someone. 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙨, 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙨, 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧, 𝙙𝙚𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙖, 𝙘𝙖𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙, 𝙜𝙖𝙨, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙥𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙙𝙨 to line traps none of it appears out of thin air.

Each “free” TNVR job costs hundreds of dollars before we even count the 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜.

And behind every “free” service are real people.
Volunteers washing soiled traps in their driveways.
Loading and unloading scared ferals before sunrise.
Skipping dinners and losing sleep to make sure those cats get trapped, fixed, vaccinated, and safely returned.

This isn’t a hobby it’s hard, messy, emotional, draining, real work.

“Free” doesn’t mean easy. It means someone else is paying the price.
Through their time.
Through their gas tank.
Through their weekend.
Through their heart.

Boomer is the perfect example of how our small but mighty rescue helps save so many lives. Boomer was found on the side of the road, close to death- when a community hero found him and brought him to the emergency room. From there, he made his way to rescue with us! Boomer has a neurological condition called CH (cerebella hyperplasia), and will remain in rescue for a longer period of time than most kittens. Which means a LOT of extra medical appointments, litter and food!

Boomer is one of many who stay with us long term before finding their furever homes. Our long timers are the ones so many forget about- but our supplies sure don’t!
