Over the last couple of days Pebbles has made great improvement with human interaction including starting to play with toys with humans, feeling more comfortable taking treats and food from human hands and even sticking her head through a leash for some yummies. Hi! 🐾 I'm Pebbles and I'm now accepting applications for my adoption! I'm about 46 pounds and almost 2 years old. I'm super shy and really not sure about these whole hooman creatures...I mean who only walks on two legs?! I am slowly starting to think hoomans aren't so bad, they bring me lots of yummies. I'm still very hesitant and nervous with a leash on me...or anything on me for that matter. My survival instincts are very strong still, but I'm less shy than when I first arrived here and want to play with the two-leggeds, just not sure I can yet.

I LOVE playing with other dogs and that's when you see my personality the most. I have 3 foster siblings that I enjoy playing with, especially in all the snow we got recently! I'd love to have at least one new sibling in my future home, maybe even two or three! I'm almost fully potty trained and prefer to do my business outside, even in the snow and rain. I do enjoy a good soft toy, blankets and some chew bones. I do like herding cats, so I need to be around dog savvy cats or no cats in my future home. 🐱

I'm spayed, up to date on shots, and a healthy pup! I'm going to need a very gentle and patient adopter who can give me the time I need to warm up to the two-leggeds. If I could be the dog version of a pasture pony I'd be pretty happy. Although with enough time I think I might enjoy house life and maybe even some snuggles. I'm still processing all the trauma from my past life of having to survive on my own amongst 90 other brothers, sisters, cousins and everything in-between, so I need gentleness, calm and kindness from my future family. Socialization outing while the weather is still nice! Miss Coconut was very nervous with all the sounds and people, but handled herself very well and even laid down after a bit. Of course we had to end our outing with a pup cup! 💕🎄

Miss Coconut is warming up to house life! She took her first nap in the middle of the floor today. While this might not seem like much, with everything she’s been through her feeling safe and comfortable enough to relax and sleep in the living room is a HUGE win for her! Sometimes small progress makes the greatest impact. 🐶🐾

Enrichment is prepped for the week! Providing enrichment like frozen kongs, puzzles, lick mats and slow feeders helps relieve stress, anxiety, and boredom. Dogs need just as much, if not more, mental exercise than physical. Bonus! Mental exercise tires them out faster than physical exercise. 😉 Do you provide enrichment activities for your pups?
