PLEASE BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!

When looking for your Ragdoll please be cautious of scammers whether on this page or any other. Here are some things to look out for:
** #1 Rule…ask for a FaceTime or live video chat! This is the fastest way to figure out you are dealing with a scammer. Scammers will have all kind of reasons why they cannot do live video…or will put you off and ask for a deposit. If they cannot do live video with the kitten then move on. All legitimate breeders I know will do live video with their kittens!

**Offering a kitten at very low prices. While it is attractive to hear of a purebred cat or kitten being offered for $300-$800, it is not reality. If someone offers you a kitten for less, even though it is attractive to find a bargain….the kitten is not real and you are setting yourself up to lose your money. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is!

**A few other red and yellow flags:
1. Very broken English and poor grammar.
2. They will only tell you their location after they insist you give your location.
3. They can’t provide pictures of parents or the registration of their cattery.
4. Will say they need up front money for paperwork (no legitimate breeder will say this).
6. They may give you a sob story about someone in the hospital or needing you to send them money for some emergency situation.
7. Will try to get a deposit immediately to “hold” the kitten because someone else is looking at it. **Keep in mind that legitimate breeders do take deposits to reserve kittens, but you will be able to do live video to ensure that there is actually a kitten on the other end and/or visit the kitten in person before putting down your deposit. NEVER PUT DOWN MONEY FOR AN ANIMAL YOU HAVE NOT SEEN!
8. Offering free non-local shipping or delivery.
9. Can’t provide updated pictures or a video.
10. Show you photos with many different backgrounds because they have stolen the pictures from different breeders.
11. If someone contacts you first be cautious, some breeders will reach out if they see you are looking but so will scammers.
12. If someone other than the person who made the post messages you or responds in the comments offering info they are probably trying to scam you.

**when in doubt , reach out! Ask around if anyone has dealt with the person!

It is going to break my heart to say goodbye to this sweet boy when it's time for him to go to his forever family! He follows me wherever I go around the house and climbs up to my lap, chest, or arms to cuddle or nap whenever I sit down. 😍
