Mav and I went to a barrel clinic 🤩, both for exposure and for me to learn more skills. He did really well, a few years ago he developed a rearing problem, and so we’ve been working through it and he got through it at the clinic! I am exposing him slowly to more and more, going at his pace and he’s doing amazing. I am excited to take more horses to clinics and really start to up my barrel racing skills 🙌🏼🛢️
Briar Update: it was a very eventful week for briar and she is moving forward in her training very well! We had 1 set back, she was doing amazing and I got greedy and asked her for more. She wasn’t ready and bucked me off. We’re both fine, but I can’t afford to be seriously hurt so I had a friend Trainer come out and ride her the next day. Both to see if she’d buck at the walk and to get her opinion on if I had actually gotten briar through her trauma. Good news is that we both think I have and now she’s just more scared, which we can work through and train. My trainer friend is very good at riding out bucks so I am having her come out a few times to help me get Briar more confident and realize bucking isn’t the answer. Overall briar has come so far! In the beginning I wasn’t even sure anyone would be able to ride her because of how she acted, and she let a new person saddle up and ride her no problem.
Long video but last week we got steps! And today ( I forgot to video) I rode her in the arena and got a trot both directions. She was pretty scared so I took a few steps as a win and no bucking 🙌🏼 very proud of briar and how far she has come mentally.
Alrighty the wait is over! Everyone meet Chili our newest addition to the breeding program. She is an 18yr old AQHA mare who’s been a broodmare and amazing momma most her life. And the best part? She’s pregnant 🙌🏼
Chili was said to be scared and not the most friendly horse. We’ve had her 1 week and she’s a different horse. She loves people and tries to follow us everywhere.
I do not plan to train her under saddle, and if she foals out well we (business partner and I) will breed her back again. Chili is bred to a relative of our other mare Cinders - whom we love, especially how well she’s doing under saddle with us.
I can’t wait for what’s to come!
Just in case you want to know what it’s like to trot 😂
Briar Rose 🙌🏼 she learned the pick up trick last week and today I pushed her a little and had her do it with the saddle on. She was a little nervous but she is learning to think before reacting. And you can see after some reassurance she understands what I’m asking. This is a mare you have to listen to and watch for blow up, and bolting signs. Previous lot that has been her answer for things she doesn’t like, and both are very dangerous if not handled correctly. It’s been amazing to see her change in the 2 weeks I’ve had her already. The saddle really doesn’t bug her at all, she’s accepting weight on both sides and getting used to my schenanigains 😂
I am so proud of this mare 🥰 she went from being this crazy wild, timid and just scared of life horse to training kiddos as young as 7yrs old. Love her and Ronen of course, and I’m so glad they are thriving in their lease home.
Would you believe me if I told you pepper used to be very scared of tarps? 😂 after this video she walked over the tarp many more times and played with it too 🙌🏼 it’s amazing to see her confidence grow
Peppermint has been doing great! Multiple handlers/riders. This is my intern riding her. She’s figuring out how to work in the arena and she also had her owner out on her today. Pepper was really good for her. They are going to be great! Next steps are going through water and on more trails, as that’s what she’ll be used for.
This mare 😍 she’s been doing really well. Cinders is learning how to be a stall horse and being okay with alone time. She moves so nice under saddle.
Dakota the gentle giant 🥰
New sheep? Nope that’s just Dutton 😂

I’ve officially had this guy for 3 weeks and he is doing amazing! He got his feet done, has been meeting the new horses, turned out to pasture, letting others catch him. Halter free now too. He love, love, loves scratches and asks everyone for them. He’s also standing so well being tied.

You wouldn’t believe me if I said he was pretty wild when I got him. He’s almost a new horse 🙌🏼

Moving forward this week he will start learning the basics of ground work, and I will start ponying him around different places.
