With the weather changing, it is a good idea to be sure your pup is vaccinated for bordatella aka kennel cough aka canine cough well before bringing them around other dogs. Similar to a child starting daycare and catching a cold from other children, airborne illnesses can spread even in the nicest of facilities using every measure to avoid them. Kennel cough is a common airway infection that causes a nasty cough amongst dogs. As a dog owner, it's important to be aware of kennel cough, and spot the signs as early as possible to avoid spreading it to other dogs that yours may come into contact with 🦠

Most dogs with kennel cough can be treated at home without medication and recover within one to three weeks. However, if your dog has a severe cough or appears unwell, your vet may recommend medication.
