I hate to do this as I've worked so hard to build this page up in just a short amount of time. Hamil and I went out to Westlake Ace Hardware San Angelo to do some training and he did great! He's such a well-behaved but fun pup! β€οΈπΎ

How to help a puppy understand that jumping on people is not the way to get attention.
This will take some persistence on your part, but once your puppy is conditioned to sit for attention, it'll hold up for their lifetime. Make sure your family and friends understand that jumping is not to be rewarded or given attention to. You'll need everyone on the same page if you want to be successful in teaching this.
Be careful in these local/public groups like San Angelo's Pets & The free pets group. They're filled with inexperienced people giving toxic advice and irresponsible breeding. This town is in a severe stray crisis right now, and they could care less. Personally, I'd suggest you avoid these groups entirely as they offer nothing of value.
If you need health advice - consult your veterinarian
If you're looking to adopt a pet - visit any local rescue or our city's shelter. If you need a specific breed/genetics for service work, hunting, etc, consult an actual reputable breeder. You won't find them in these local groups bc that's not how a real breeder does business.
Have training questions - "cough cough" or your trainer of choice, of course.
Question on pet products - visit a pet store
Basically, what I'm saying is go to the actual pros if you want accurate advice and good service.
Our December community pack walk will be 6pm on Monday, December 19th. We'll be meeting in the Kid's Kingdom parking area and walking a long the Concho River where the light displays are.
The Valley Coffee Co. will be set up in the Kid's Kingdom parking area serving their delicious hot beverages before, during, and after the walk! They will also be serving pup cups with some healthy organic treats for your dogs!
Cassie's Place will be joining in with some of their adoptable dogs who would love a home for the holidays, so come meet them!
This is free and open to everyone!

The amount of heart Hamil has is humbling. Only one week into his board and train and he's grown so much! Not just training wise, but behaviorally. Helping him come into his own has been so rewarding.
We got a pupdate from George's owners today! I have to admit I got teary eyed (happy tears). She said George (who is now Judge) is doing very well! He's all ready for his first Christmas with his family in his jammies! So very proud of my buddy! β€οΈπΎ

Welcome Rosie to the LNL family! Rosie is available for adoption through Concho Valley PAWS and is currently placed with a loving foster family! With permanent injuries to her front paw and tail, it's obvious this poor girl has had a rough past. We'll be teaching her some basic obedience and helping her build up her confidence and trust. β€οΈπΎ

Slyvia D'Entremont, a client of ours, was looking to get rid of a treadmill and asked if I'd like to take it off of her hands. I said yes. Years ago, Arturo had learned how to use a treadmill when we were training with my mentor Felix Rosado . As Arturo is getting older and his cognitive function is declining, I've been looking for a less strenuous way, out of the elements to keep him both physically and mentally healthy. I wondered if he'd remember how to use the treadmill. Not only did he remember, but seemed to really enjoy it! Once he gets more comfortable we'll try to bump it up a notch lol. So grateful for this! All my dogs are crate trained. Meaning, they understand that their crates are their safe space. Their dens. Not a punishment. It's where they can go to relax and sleep in peace. I can send them in or guide them in gently. They get rewarded for going in at my request. There's no barking or whining. They settle right in and are comfortable doing so. They have a daily routine that helps them know when it's crate time and when it's free roam time. There hasn't been any dogs that I've taken in or boarded that weren't able to catch on and get use to their crates. You just need to know how to do it properly and have the patience to follow through the first couple of days.
Petting your dog is super relaxing and a stress reliever! Don't take my word for it though, just listen to what Paul has to say!
