Celebrating the 4th of July means fun for the whole family! Just take a moment beforehand to be sure your pets stay safe.

• Exercise your pet before the celebration starts by taking a walk or playing fetch.
• Keep your pet secure - and indoors if possible - during the fireworks displays and other festivities.
• If you’re out of town, schedule a responsible person to ensure your pet is secure before and after the fireworks.
• Have your pet properly identified – tags, collar and microchip up to date. If you had your pet microchipped at the shelter, you can call 24PetWatch at 866-597-2424 to ensure your phone number and address are current.
• If your pet becomes lost, post them on social media, Petco Love Lost, and view the shelter's live inventory at 24PetConnect.com.
• Animal Control officers will be on call to respond to emergency calls, such as dangerous dogs that are loose.
