We have questions but we also have answers…Newt has been diagnosed with Epilepsy after having a full work up done that shows he is 100% healthy (besides the seizure). He won’t be on medication unless they begin to happen frequently so for now we will continue on and hope that they don’t happen again or that they at least stay extremely far apart and extremely short…luckily we have pets best health Insurance for him so he is financially covered if anything were to happen and we had to rush him in…even when you purchase a well bred dog the probability of having health problems is still there…now they are much lower but unfortunately they are still there 😔

Someone needs to get groomed 😂😂😂 Gonna try stripping her this time around to help a fellow groomer get some stripping experience In but she getting bigger by the day 🥲 Also I feel puppy uglies 🤣 she’s getting lean despite being on 4 cups and raw so I feel another growth spurt upon us 🤦🏽‍♀️

Definitely have not been my usual active self…work week was extremely rough and we’ve been taking a break from training because the one thing I believe is never train when you are frustrated! It’s not fair to your dog and it’s not fair to yourself because you will beat yourself up for it later…working in the industry you love can suck sometimes because it’s different when you care so much about it…before I keep rambling here is Rowena in her bandana 🥰 did I mention that we now model for them? TONGUE OUT TUESDAY picture by the lovely I absolutely love these girls and cannot see where they go!!! Next stop it’s time to hit the road! I’ve decided to get out of my comfort zone and will be traveling with Rowena to visit different clubs in the upcoming months to build connections and such 😅 to say I’m nervous is an understatement but my business mentor is pushing me out of my bubble so that I can grow 🫠 Stay tuned to see us travel! If someone were to ask me what the most important thing to build in their puppy it would have to be confidence…the hardest dogs I have to work with are not dogs that are crazy and hyper it’s the unconfident ones who struggle to process new things and overcome fear whether it’s a new park or even a tree moving THESE are the dogs that take everything to train because you have to build trust between the two of you and build confidence in themselves when they have never felt truly secure.

When you own four dogs and they do not sleep on the bed 🤣 Diablo sleeps in a crate because he’s legitimately an as***le if he is disturbed while sleeping 😂…Newt and Rome share a place bed with a dragon 🐉 and idk how many blankets and then Rowena sleeps on her place bed backtied and with her unicorn 🦄 and puppy pads in case of accidents because well she’s still a puppy but she is now holding it through the night! 🙌🏼 the joys of a multi dog household 🤣

Raising A Working Line Giant Schnauzer

Things I have learned so far with my first well bred Giant Schnauzer bite sport prospect puppy… Their teeth are no joke and jeez they pack a punch 🤣 The drive and confidence she has is unmatched and I have to keep a close eye on her to keep her from injuring herself while she explores the world Even though she is bred for work and has drive like no other she still is sensitive to me and patience is a must She is growing so quickly the puppy size is flying by and it is so bittersweet to watch her grow Boundaries placed early are a must and have made her puppyhood so much more enjoyable 🥰 Potty training still sucks 🤣😂 I will feel like I’m behind even if I am right where I’m supposed to be… Us learning to communicate with each other will come in such a way that doesn’t feel real… While I thought I would be raising her a certain way I have completely abandoned a “plan” and have gone with just teaching her how to explore and see the world while also teaching her and myself who we are… the obedience and fun stuff will come but right now it’s our time to exist and explore the world around us . . . . . . . . #balancedtraining #puppyraising #bitework #psa #bitesportpuppy #giantschnauzer #workingline #workingbreed #socializing #satx #femalehandler #rowena #familiar #hopsandhounds #fyp #cannon #spring #texas #lonestar #smallbusiness

Newt had some fun today!!! Starting to get into the Sport World and let me tell you I love it!

Back in December my complex had a competition where they wanted us to do tricks with our pups to show off our skills and this is what we submitted and won first place! Im still trying to figure out what I want this weeks video to be about so hopefully I think of something tomorrow!

Alright today's topic will be handling and why it's so important and how I teach my puppies how to be handled...you've all heard people talk about how they can't clip their dogs nails or that they can't touch their dogs mouth or I've seen videos of dogs trying to turn and bite their owners when they try and pick them up. No matter how big or how small being able to handle your dog is so important! I will attach videos of me handling both Kodah and Newt so you can see the difference between a dog that is used to being handled and a puppy that is learning to be handled. Number one I ALWAYS work on the feet because it is so important that a dog holds still while clipping their nails so that you don't hurt them on accident and that it is a stress free activity! Daily feet handling and weekly nail trims make this so that it because something that they are used to! Number two with little dogs I get them accustomed to being picked up by their scruff because it has saved my dogs multiple time when a dog has charged me and I've been able to snatch my little one up since I do not use harnesses! Also in larger dogs if something were to happen and say a collar slipped off or whatever you can grab onto that skin and the dog knows oh you are just telling me where to go instead of panicking and you literally not having any way to grab your dog. Number Three I make sure my dogs are accustomed to being poked and prodded everywhere! This comes in handy for many reasons but the main ones have been when a vet needs to check my dog out they are okay with being handled and looked over and the biggest one children...now you should never leave a child unsupervised with a dog but things happen and ive had a kid come up from behind and pull my dogs tail while we were walking...ive heard stories of kids being bit or even mauled to death because of incidents where a child pulled on a dogs tail or grabbed their face and I never want to be added to that list so big or small my dogs will be
