Most of the pigs raised in the U.S.

are in factory farms where they are confined and will never get to play, be clean, cuddle with each other, or be picky eaters. They are being raised for food and will be killed and not allowed to live to their natural lifespan with their families in peace. This broke my heart. One of the reasons I got involved in pig rescues was that while I cannot rescue all, I can make a difference in helping so

me. We receive calls from people letting us know of situations in which pigs have been abandones and neglected—the homeowner moves and leaves the pig behind, caged without food and filthy water. One one mission we rescued a father pig and his daughter. Their names are Chapo and Simona. When we arrived they were locked in a 10 x 10 foot outdoor boarded house with maybe 1 foot x 4 foot opening at the top. It was summer, the temperature was 100 degrees. They were in mud and their own excrement. Their water had not been changed in months. Through much effort, we were able to set them free and place them into brand new kennels with fresh water, fruit, and lettuce and transfer them to their new forever home. A beautiful ranch in Texas where they are loved & cared for . They have several other piggies they’ve made friends with, horses and goats too. That’s a happy ending. All donations will go towards the rescue and transport of our missions. Once rescued, we make sure the animals get medical attention and all piggies neutered or spayed. Donations will also be dispersed to approved animal rescue sanctuaries ensuring the wonderful, compassionate caretakers receive financial assistance to help them purchase feed, build barns and so much more.

We’re so glad you’re here! For our new followers, here’s a little about who we are, what we do, and how you can support our mission:

Operation Lola was founded by Leonor Ramirez after a heartbreaking Craigslist ad caught her attention: “For sale: either food or as a pet.” This ad led her to a tiny, one-pound piglet, whom she named Lola. Lola became part of Leonor’s family and the inspiration behind Operation Lola. Though Lola passed away in 2024, her legacy of love and compassion lives on through our work. 💖🐷

Our winner of the $500: Flying Pig Animal Sanctuary! They’ll be using the funds to kick off their Big Pig enclosure expansion project, which is such an incredible initiative. Pig rescue is very near to my heart—Operation Lola was named after my own rescue pig, Lola—so supporting their mission means the world to me.

Our newest rescue, Federica is safe at an amazing rescue near Devine, Texas, receiving the love and care she needs. She’s on medication, has been seen by a vet, and is getting stronger every day! Thanks to @baristakats, @buylolascoffee, and Operation Lola, we’re thrilled to donate this beautiful shed for Federica to have a cozy and safe space.
