We received an amazing amount of donations from the community to help us “Fill The Van” for the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services. The van was STUFFED to the brim! We delivered blankets of all sizes, dog beds, giant bags of dog food, and more. Thanks to you, our furry friends will feel cozy during the winter while they wait for a FURever family. 🫶 If you are looking to add a pup to your family, please consider walking through ACS to see all the pups. There are so many and they all deserve a warm couch to cuddle on.

This sugar face senior's name is Joe, and he spent his entire life at a shelter waiting for his fur-ever family. KENS 5 & Kens5.com featured him in their Forgotten Friends segment and he then acquired multiple applications at the Animal Defense League of Texas ! His new paw-rents absolutely adore him, and we could tell he adores them back by the way his tail wags for them. Our foster Tucker wants to join your family! 🐾 He was found as a stray just wandering the streets, but with the amazing help of God's Dogs Rescue, he is now being fostered at our Thousand Oaks location. Our team is thrilled to continue Lucys legacy of giving back to pups in need through our Lucy’s Lends A Paw program. Tucker is SUCH a love bug, anytime the team approaches his room, he holds up his paw and wants to hold your hand. This tub of love is also very active and athletic. Loves him some Zoomies! He is able to jump a 6 foot wooden fence. He might do well with another pup in the house, but would do really great with someone who will get him plenty of exercise and then he will be glad to be a couch potato cuddled up close to you. Everyone deserves a little R&R, especially this sweet old man.
Big Red, a blind and matted senior pup, was originally dumped in someone’s backyard and spent 6 months in Helotes Humane Society foster care without any applications.
Then the team at KENS 5 & Kens5.com discovered Big Red’s story and featured him on their “Forgotten Friends” segment— and the apps came pouring in.
His new family absolutely adores him and count themselves lucky to of been chosen as Big Red’s FURever home. They are looking into the possibility of cataracts surgery so he can gain his vision back!
The Lucy’s Team cherishes the core value of continuing Lucy’s legacy of giving back to pups in need and were elated when Big Red’s Dad reached out to us.

“Hi, my name is Luca. 🪸Luca the Sea Monster. 🪼That’s right, my foster parents named me after the Disney movie “Luca”. How cool is that? Want to know why they call me a Sea Monster? Well, it is probably because I am a big ball of energy and I LOVE to attack all the new toys they buy me. Throwing them around, ripping them apart and playing tug of war with my foster sister. (She is jealous of all the attention I get, and tries to take my toys) And well, if I am being honest, I am a little bit of a monster. I can be a bit mischievous.
Let me tell you a little about me. I am about to turn 6 months old in May! I am a boxer mix and I weigh about 40 lbs. I LOVE car rides, I snore like an old man, and when I sniff, I make this cute snorting sound. (My foster mom thinks it is so cute). I love my toys; I get new ones all the time. I love to play; I could play all day, but I also like to nap. I nap anywhere and everywhere. On top of my foster parents, half off the couch, in my bed, In the car. It is one of my favorite pastimes. I also really love to cuddle, there is no place I would rather be than curled up next to my human. I seem to really like kids by the way. My foster mom says I would be a great dog for a little boy. We could be best buds.

Lucy’s Doggy Daycare and Spa received a very special invitation to Kay Franklin Elementary School today to inspire young minds for Career Day. Hannah Snyder the Director of Marketing, Madison Cave the Recruiting and Training Manager, and her furry son Milo, had the privilege to speak with 120 second grade students about what it’s like to have a career at Lucy’s. It was truly an “Arfin’ Awesome” morning where children had the opportunity to hang out with Milo and learn about having compassion for our canine friends, how to help the pups in need in their community, and to aspire to one day be a “Future Lucy’s Leader.” Every child received a t-shirt, and were quizzed on how to safely approach a pup earning them a Lucy’s frisbee. The school was buzzing with excitement about their bright futures and all their career possibilities ahead of them.

Nova is sure to light up your life with her shining spirit of joy! This baby was rescued by City of San Antonio Animal Care Services as a stray on the streets of San Antonio. The Lucy's Downtown Team saw her on the ACS' call for help list since the shelter was at maximum capacity, so we jumped into action and picked her up to give her a new lease on life.
She has never met a stranger because she adores everyone she meets and is eager to cover them in kisses. Nova is a Labrador retriever mix and around 2 years old and 62 lbs. This bright shining star loves all pups and humans of all ages and will have your hearts orbiting over the moon for her! She is up to date on all her vaccines and spayed. She is currently being fostered and cared for at our Downtown location and undergoing treatment for heartworms. Once she is clear of heartworms, she will spend her days playing in our park with all her FURiends while she awaits her FURever family.
