The Garrity family came to the shelter looking for a new furry friend to adopt. 🤗 After explaining about their lifestyle and needs, we suggested Lucy as a great match! 😍 When Lucy came into the yard with them, they loved her wide array of spots and patterns. They started to ask more about her history and why she had been here for so long. Their hearts started to swell, as they learned that being older and having heart worms tends to be an unfortunate deterrent for some people. 😥 They were smitten and determined to give her the home she deserved, but she seemed a bit nervous and withdrawn. 💔 That's when we told them that she'd come to the shelter with Wayne and suggested bringing him to the yard to help her feel more secure. 💡 As soon as Wayne arrived, Lucy completely opened up, it was night and day. 🎉 She began to show affection to the Garritys and became confident and active with her friend by her side. 🐶🐶 From that moment on, their minds were made up, both pups (heartworms and all) would become Garritys and never be separated again 💓🐾
