Albert has been working on puzzles! He is a senior dog whose vision and athleticism are reduced, so we have found a way to use his nose for active brain stimulation and entertainment.

Rocky and Chip are brothers.
Rocky is almost twice in weight what Chip is, but they are both smart and spunky pups! Such an honor to not only be asked to return to work a new dog in the household, but also a related dog in a different household.

Wednesday afternoon I left a client home after a lesson and saw a handsome dog walking alone with a harness and leash still attached. Initial attempt to catch him was a failure. He was scared and kept making distance. I thought he would wander away and I’d missed my chance.
I got into my car to see if my client would post in his NextDoor App a description of this dog. Then I posted on Facebook on a lost dog group for San Antonio. I think I responded to a text from a friend, and when I looked up to scan the area, the dog was back, two houses up the road from me. I was able to quietly catch up and step on the leash and I put my slip leash on him.
I waited with this handsome guy for three hours. I rescheduled my next lesson because I didn’t want to leave him alone. ACS finally arrived after several people in this neighborhood sprung into action to do what they could to help me see if we could locate its owner. When ACS arrived, the dog was scanned for a microchip. ACS discovered this guy was chipped and they had adopted him out to a woman four years ago. They contacted her and she said she had “rehomed” this cutie pie, but when asked for the new owner’s contact information, she wouldn’t provide it.
His name is Zeus and he is on a 5-day hold to see if the new owner comes to find him. After that they will put him up for adoption again and see if any rescue could help with him.
He is neutered and at least four years old. He is a stocky lovebug. He wasn’t cat aggressive, he didn’t react when people walked by with their leashed dogs, and he really enjoyed affection and pets. He had an injury on his tail that ACS will attend to. He may have some internal things to address as he urinated and drank a lot of water while in my presence for three hours. But I wanted to promote him here. He is the dog you’d love to have. He was so sweet and deserves a home. If you or someone you know has space in the home for a sweet boy who likely was dumped by an undeserving owner, please go see this boy at ACS.
I will do a free lesson for whomever adopts him.

Fiona learns retrieve

Fiona is Betsy Ross’ house mate, and she crushed this activity early on. She would grab toys and chuck them in the air behind her, but tapping the floor helped her to bring her toy to me.

Betsy Ross is a happy chihuahua who struggled to put her mouth onto toys and carry them. We have been working on this for mental stimulation and to have some fun.

Toby moved so today we worked on coming when called in his new yard, as well as boundaries and not going into the street.

Wyatt and his kennel

Wyatt is a 4mo old bernadoodle who just completed a week of an in home board and train to lay the foundations to his basic obedience. He is on his way to becoming a great companion dog!

He voluntarily goes in, he waits to exit, and he doesn’t need a lure or a barrier. Way to go Toby!

Today’s fun with Pearl (5mo old sheepdog) and her older brother Albert (viejito cocker spaniel). Pearl has been in homeschool with me for several weeks and Albert is an old dog learning new tricks.

Winston is crushing roll over! He isn’t a super confident dog but is excellent with general obedience. I’ve been working him several sessions to just have fun, let loose and feel ok with the vulnerable position of being belly up. So proud of this guy!
