PLEASE ADOPT!

We sadly are closed to any and all cat and kitten intakes.

We urgently need your help. Our shelter is overflowing with abandoned mom cats, dad cats, and baby kittens. Despite our best efforts and the promises made by previous cat owners, many cats have been left at the shelter without homes.

We currently have over 30 kittens of all adoptable ages in our kitten rooms, bottle babies starting their life adventures at foster homes, a 9-year-old dad cat needing a long-term foster while undergoing stomatitis treatment, and loving mom cats who have cared for their kittens and now need forever homes.

Our staff is overwhelmed, overworked, and exhausted. Until we can find homes for a significant number of cats and kittens, we will have to shut down all intakes. This decision isn't by choice but by necessity.

Please, if you can, consider adopting one of our fully vetted cats or kittens. Your support can make all the difference.

Dear Pet Owners, please read the ingredients on the back of the bag of your pet food and treats. These look healthy. But if you read the ingredients they have things like maple flavored syrup and sugar listed in the ingredients. Why on Earth do you need any sugar in your pet food? Another bag I was reading this morning in big letters, said made with real beef! But when you read the ingredients, beef is the 7th ingredient. Also, this one included sugars. I hadn't thought of this but it seems logical to me. However, it's just as easy to drop the entire bag into the bin and scoop it out from there. What food you are using is the most important thing. There are many choices on the market today. But most important: AVOID anything with "meat-by-products!" It's any animal, and any part of an animal, not edible by people. This includes road kill, dead zoo animals and euthanized pets. Do your research before dishing out dinner to your precious fur-baby. Planet Paws is an excellent resource but if you are not into preparing your own pet food, researching to make sure that your pet is getting all the nutrition they need, see my recommendation in the comments below.

Plastics are porous, meaning oils💧 become trapped in them. Unless they’re washed🧼 daily, which isn’t practical, the pet food stored inside will be spoiled by rancid oils.🩸Proper pet food storage is essential to blocking or delaying the development of degenerative chemical processes⚠️ and the growth of spoilage bacteria.

Meet Molly, Rusty, and Belle. I've been caring for these furkids for 4 years. They never fail to start my day off with a laugh with their antics. Molly and Rusty collide, then wrestle all the way, trying to bring the rope back to me. Who will be successful. And little Belle is in the background watching the whole thing, sharing my laugh.

This is Teddy. One of the furkids I babysit. This was his message to his mom this morning. He is too stinkin' cute!!

One of the fur kids I babysit for gobbles her food too quickly. This is the solution her mom bought for her. I think little Ruby believes it's a game as she runs around in circles chasing her food. Just look at that happy Tail Wag. What's even better is it accomplishes its purpose.
