Meet Beta, the Resilient Pup! 🐾

Beta recently faced a tough challenge—a severe radius ulnar fracture that needed urgent surgical intervention. Despite the fracture being splinted, it wasn’t healing, and surgery became the only option.

🐾 Meet Knucklehead, the resilient pup! 🐾

After ingesting something he shouldn’t have, Knucklehead faced a serious health scare with a foreign body obstruction. His family rushed him to Veterinary Emergency Group in San Jose, but the surgery cost was overwhelming.

💔 In need of help, they turned to Sage Compassion for Animals, who provided the financial assistance needed. Thanks to their support, Knucklehead received life-saving surgery and is now back to his happy, playful self!

💖 Meet Taz, the Resilient Survivor!

Taz, a sweet kitty, recently faced a tough situation when a chair fell on him, causing a serious fracture in his left hind leg. His family noticed he was in pain and hiding, which was unusual for him. Worried, they took him to the vet, where they discovered the extent of his injury. The vets recommended surgery, but the cost was overwhelming.

Luckily, Taz’s family found out about SAGE Compassion for Animals through the San Francisco SPCA . With the help of the team at SAGE and the support of kind-hearted people, Taz was able to undergo surgery. Taz had his left hind leg amputated, was neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

🏡 Now, Taz is home and recovering well, surrounded by the love of his family. They are incredibly grateful for the support that made his surgery possible and are overjoyed to see him getting better every day.

With over 30 years of experience in small animal surgery, Dr. Richardson recently retired as the Specialty Medical Director at Sage Veterinary Centers but continues her passion for helping pets and people. 💖 Meet Max, the Brave Fighter!

One night, Max had a bad fall from the bed and hurt his right front leg. His owner quickly took him to the SPCA, where they discovered that Max had a serious fracture in his elbow. The injury was complicated and required surgery to fix, or Max might have faced long-term problems or even amputation.

Max’s family wanted to help him but couldn’t afford the expensive surgery. That’s when they turned to SAGE Compassion for Animals. Thanks to a grant, Max got the surgery he needed.

🏡 Now, Max is resting and recovering at home with his loving family. They’re following the doctor’s instructions to make sure he heals well. Max’s family is so grateful for the support and wants to help other families in need.

💖 Meet Madison, the Brave Survivor!

Madison recently faced a tough challenge. She stopped eating, was very tired, and kept vomiting for days. This wasn't normal for her, even though she has a history of eating things she shouldn't, like socks and toys. A check-up showed that a piece of fabric was stuck in her small intestine, causing a blockage. Surgery was the only solution, but her family couldn't afford it.

In their time of need, Madison's family reached out to SAGE Compassion for Animals. Thanks to our grant, Madison had the surgery she needed at the (VEG). Now, Madison is back home, recovering well, and her family is thrilled to have her back. They were heartbroken at the thought of losing her and are forever grateful to VEG and SAGE Compassion for Animals for saving Madison.

💖 Meet Angel, the Resilient Rescue!

Angel's journey began in a tiny apartment backyard during a rainy winter, with a heavy metal chain around her neck. At just three months old, she had lost her fur, her paws were flat, and she was surviving on eating her own waste. After being rescued, Angel quickly transformed into a loving, obedient, and happy dog. She loves to sunbathe, enjoys back scratches, insists on warm baths with her face washed last, and is a picky eater. Watching her sleep is a delight as she snores like a grown man with her tongue poking out slightly.

Recently, Angel started bleeding from her v***a, which turned out to be a severe infection called pyometra. Her owner, unable to afford immediate surgery, reached out to SAGE Compassion for Animals. We were able to provide a grant for the life-saving surgery Angel needed. Now, Angel is back home, recovering well, and returning to her normal routine of sunbathing and snoring in her owner's ear. Her owner is deeply grateful, expressing that Angel had saved them during a difficult time in their life, and now, thanks to SAGE Compassion, Angel's life has been saved in return.

💖 Meet Mochi, the Resilient Survivor!

Mochi's journey began on the streets of Tully and King in San Jose, where she was found living in a plaza near a busy intersection. In December 2022, her future changed when a self-supporting student noticed her lying in a parking lot, frail and barely able to move. Despite financial struggles, the student took Mochi home, providing her with food, water, and a safe place to regain her strength.

As Mochi thrived, the bond between her and her rescuer deepened. They endured hardships together, hiding from the landlord and finding comfort in each other's company. It became clear that they were each other's home.

Recently, Mochi faced another challenge. She needed surgery, but her owner, already burdened by financial constraints, didn't know how to proceed. That’s when they turned to SAGE Compassion for Animals for help. Thanks to our support, Mochi received the surgery she needed and is now recovering like a champ.

🏡 Mochi is back home, continuing to spread love and joy. Her owner is beyond grateful for the kindness and support that made this possible.

💖 Meet Mickey, the Resilient Feline!

Mickey started life as part of a semi-feral colony in the neighborhood, rescued at just 5-6 weeks old. Despite his rough start, Mickey quickly became a beloved member of the family with his sweet disposition, winning hearts everywhere.

Recently, Mickey started limping and was diagnosed with Legg-Calve-Perthes disease in his right hip, the same condition his sibling had. With no income due to an injury and savings depleted by surgeries for another pet, his owner was unsure how to afford Mickey's urgent surgery.

Thanks to the support from SAGE Compassion for Animals and the skilled team at VCA Animal Care Clinic, Mickey received the surgery he needed and is now recovering nicely. His owner is deeply grateful for the help that made this possible. Mickey is on the mend and back to spreading love and joy.

With a history of emergency C-section from a previous litter, Muffin's family knew she needed urgent medical attention beyond what their primary vet could provide, so they turned to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Pleasant Hill.

💔 Upon arrival, it was clear Muffin required a C-section to safely deliver her puppies. With financial assistance from Sage Compassion for Animals, Muffin underwent successful surgery, ensuring the safety of both her and her puppies.

💔 With surgery urgently needed, Nala was transferred to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in San Jose for more financial help. Thanks to the combined support from Sage Compassion for Animals and the skilled team at VEG, Nala underwent a successful surgery to remove the obstruction.

Worried, she first took him to Doolittle Vet, but Jay's condition required further attention, leading them to East Bay SPCA.

There, Dr. Gwen Gadd discovered Jay had bladder stones, including two lodged in his urethra, making surgery imperative to save his life.

💔 With surgery urgently needed, Jay's mom turned to Sage Compassion for Animals and East Bay Spca for financial support. Thanks to their combined assistance and the exceptional care from Dr. Gadd and her team, Jay underwent a successful cystotomy and neuter procedure!

Benita is a spirited 1-year-11-month-old pup who recently faced a tough challenge. For several days, she was vomiting, not eating, and feeling very lethargic. 🚨 Concerned, Benita's owner rushed her to VCA PetCare Veterinary Hospital where it was discovered that Benita had ingested parts of a paper bag, causing a blockage in her stomach. Surgery was urgently needed to save her life.

💔 Faced with this urgent situation, Benita's owner turned to SAGE Compassion for Animals for financial support. With our help and the outstanding team at VCA PetCare East, Benita underwent a successful surgery!

🏡 Now, Benita is back home, slowly regaining her energy and happiness. She’s on bed rest for another week, but she’s already showing signs of her playful self.
