Introducing Dr. Lance Day, our dedicated veterinarian with a passion for emergency medicine, neurology, and physical rehabilitation. 🩺🐾 Born and raised on a farm in Missouri, he brings a wealth of experience from working in small animal practices across Las Vegas and San Diego. Now, as part of the PESC team, he's excited to expand his expertise in endoscopy, surgery, and diagnostic imaging. When he's not caring for animals, you can find him enjoying the beach, hiking, or exploring the great outdoors with his two adorable dogs, Adelaide and Bentley. Welcome, Dr. Day! 🌟🐶

Introducing Dr. McHugh, our compassionate small animal ER veterinarian with a focus on pain management, trauma, and surgery. 🩺🐾 With a background in exotic animal medicine, she's thrilled to join our emergency team. Driven by exceptional client service and communication, she's here to provide expert care. When she's not caring for her furry and scaly friends, she enjoys indoor recreational activities like video games and reading, as well as exploring new restaurants and sights with friends. More exciting announcements here at PESC! Dr. Jennifer Brodsky, currently part of the ER doctor team, has just taken on the ER Department Head position at PESC East. Dr. Brodsky has been an integral part of the the ER team for the last year and is excited to be joining the leadership team in this very important role!!

Dr. Brodsky is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She attended veterinary school at the University of Florida where she earned her DVM as well as a certificate in shelter medicine, which she's always been very passionate about. After vet school, she completed a rotating internship with a focus on emergency medicine, zoo and wildlife medicine, and surgery in Tucson, Arizona before joining the team at PESC. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Brodsky enjoys travelling, hiking, anything on the water, and spending time with her senior chihuahua, Banana.

September is Animal Pain Awareness month. We at PESC are passionate about Pain Assessment and Pain Management in our acute and chronically painful patients. We are fortunate to live in a time where we have a multitude of modalities, conventional and complimentary medications and adjuncts, for the management of surgical, postoperative, acute trauma, and chronic pain. Your pet's comfort is our top priority!

We are so thrilled to be welcoming Dr. Jennifer Willey back to PESC as our Criticalist and Medical Director!

Dr. Willey is originally from the East Coast. She obtained her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 2011 and continued to move west to complete an internship at the Pet Emergency & Specialty Center. She stayed in California for an emergency and critical care residency at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital, becoming board certified in 2015.

Dr. Willey has a long history with PESC, as an intern, Criticalist and currently one of our relief doctors. Dr. Willey is excited for the opportunity to be back at PESC as part of our new leadership team. She looks forward to supporting our internal team members, while ensuring our rDVMs, clients and patients receive an exceptional experience and excellent patient care.

Dr. Willey loves spending time in the mountains with her husband and fur kids, as well as, running, rock climbing, and snowboarding. Please give her a warm welcome back!

It’s been a rough year and a half for all of us. We are pleased to be able to start loosening some of the restrictions we have had to follow to keep everyone safe. We are excited to be able to return to some normalcy. We know coming to the emergency room or to see a specialist is hard enough without all the restrictions of the past year. Hopefully this will make it a tiny bit easier for you and your pets.

Hey all WE WON!!! Woo hoo!

We did pretty great in our speeches! Thanks to all who helped or tried to help. A couple of you couldn’t get in and that happens. Every one who did get in did an amazing job and there were a few new supporters along the way. Special thanks to Commissioner Steve Padilla for so eloquently and clearly explaining and supporting Option B.

There were 43 public speakers.
Four spoke only to environmental and didn’t address A or B.
Thirteen speakers supported Option A, some of them eloquently.
The rest (25) were Team FIDO!

The Item was called at 9:24am and the motions to adopt as amended with Option B passed at 1:33pm

SO CLOSE! The amendment to adopt B over A only won by a 6-5 vote.
The final vote do adopt as amended with Option and other changes to the Northern Area and week control was:
7-3 and not without it’s drama. Initially the vote was called at 6-3 because one of the Commissioners had left. But he was still available and they him back to make the 7th vote to complete the Item and We Win!
