Art2Ride is now offering saddle-fitting/riding combination clinics to offer a more flexible platform for those who are interested in hosting an Art2Ride event. There has been an incredible interest in the Peter Horobin Stride Free saddles, understandably since the success of following the Art2Ride system is to have a saddle that actually allows and encourages the horse and rider to adopt the posture needed to engage the correct muscles.. Many of these requests for demo rides have been successfully handled online but nothing can replace a personal hands on experience.
The requirements for the combination clinics is much more flexible and can be easier to get a group together. Each clinic will be structured on an individual basis according to interest and cost can be determined as well at this point. The saddlefitting will include an educational portion which emphasizes the most important points of saddlefitting that the rider/owner can assess for themselves, a variety of saddle models for demo rides and saddle fit evaluations, adjustment and repairs.
Our goal is to empower our Art2Ride followers to be the best advocate for the horse and to be the most successful in developing their horses. A poorly designed or incorrectly fitted saddle will actually create stumbling blocks in your horse’s developmental journey, restrict any ability to respond to light aids and to move freely. A horse’s perception of being ridden is either one of a relaxed meditative experience or one of discomfort (or pain), a struggle to balance an unbalanced rider, and most obvious is a major conflict of the aids…we are asking the horse to push up through the back and carry the rider yet an improper saddle will convince the horse he should drop his back and hollow to avoid the pain or discomfort of a poorly fitted saddle.
It is a win/win combination so any rider/horse can have the Peter Horobin Saddle educational experience, plus the ability to feel for themselves how well it works with the Art2Ride Training System and how much it can improve the way a horse moves and engages. Both horse and rider should be happy in their work!
