Listen, I know there are a TON of dog food brands on the market, and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out which one to choose for your pup.

There are cheap kibbles that consist of low quality processed ingredients with very low amounts of nutrients, which is basically equivalent to feeding your pup McDonalds...

There are also brands that are made with fresh ingredients and marketed as "healthy" even though they are filled with fillers or low quality ingredients.

"MAKE A CHANGE, WHILE FEEDING HEALTHY!"

There's a reason why I chose this for the Dylan's Pet Food slogan...

When I first came up with the idea of Dylan's Pet Food, the original recipe contained meat and was the farthest from a vegan or plant-based recipe.

I spent years going through product development with veterinarian nutritionists and learning the ins and outs of the pet food industry.

I was about to start producing the recipe and call the company "DYLAN'S PET FOOD" with a slogan "MAKE A CHANGE, WHILE FEEDING HEALTHY".

Just before I started producing the recipe, I made a major change to my diet that brought everything to a halt.

I went to a holistic retreat, and in order to prepare for the retreat, I was told to follow a vegan diet and stop drinking alcohol two weeks before to cleanse my body from all toxins.

When I got back from the retreat, I really liked the way I was feeling from the diet, so I started to do more research and took an online plant-based nutrition course through Cornell University.

Once I learned about the health, environmental, and animal well-fare benefits of a plant-based diet, I was hooked on the idea.

Eventually, after removing meat from my diet, it started to smell terrible to me, and I could not see myself running a meat-based dog food company if I didn't eat meat myself.

After consulting my veterinarian nutritionists and switching Dylan over to a plant-based diet, I went through product development again and thankfully for the last time.

I began re-formulating the recipe and came up with 2 other 100% plant-based recipes as well.

I worked diligently alongside my vet nutritionists who helped balance the recipes and ensure they would provide all the proper nutrients every pup needs.

Upon finalizing the recipes, an idea popped into my head. Is it a coincidence that my slogan since day one of this journey was "make a change, while feeding healthy," even though my initial recipe contained animal products? Or was this meant to be?
