Happy 10th (what???) Birthday to the one and only Wookie!!! Hard to believe it’s been 10 years already.. but, looking at her recent picture the expression did not change much. Same sassy girl! 😎🎂❤️. Happy 10th and many more! 🎂🧚‍♀️

Hot hot weekend at the Southwestern Rottweiler Club of San Diego Scent Work trial. Freddie delivered. Again 😎🐾. She completed the last leg in Excellent Exterior, which got her the overall Scent Work Excellent title in all 4 elements and moved her up to the Master level. Then, we completed the first qualifying runs in Master Buried and Master Interior. I so happy I was able to keep up 🤣🧚‍♀️
P.S. Master Interior search is crazy, nerve wracking yet soo rewarding! Things we do for a ribbon..

Freddie and I spent a fabulous afternoon in Palm Springs. Fall at the desert sure feels like a nice summer day anywhere else 😎. Freddie did great walking around busy downtown, did a lot of people and dog watching when we stopped for lunch. I’m very pleased with her social skills and great temperament. Grandpa Oz would have been proud ❤️🐾

Hardworking Freddie does not slow down for a Labor Day weekend! She competed at the Greater San Diego Basset Hound Club's AKC Scent Work Trials with fabulous results: Excellent Buried title (with 2nd and 4th placements), 2 legs in Excellent Exterior and the 1st leg in Master Containers (with 4th placement!!). She even got the “Exceptional” ribbon 💝 - I’m glad that judges recognize her talents 🐾👍.

Freddie had a busy birthday weekend. On Saturday, she completed her last qualifying legs and earned titles in Excellent Interior & Containers. Then, birthday bash at Broken Yolk with singing & whipped cream! Pretty awesome 🎂🐾. Sunday was fun and more qualifying runs. It’s almost time to start reading up on Masters level. I need to keep up with my dogs! 🤣

Our Story

Our mission as the AKC Otterhound Breeders of Merit is to promote and preserve these wonderful hounds. With less than 800 Otterhounds in the world, they are one of the most endangered dog breeds. Our Otterhounds are social and versatile. All our dogs are AKC Champions or Grand Champions and Good Canine Citizens. We participate in a variety of dog activities, including confirmation, obedience, agility and NoseWork. Our hounds are intelligent, friendly and great breed ambassadors. In our breeding program, we promote good health, temperament and most of all great family companions. Our puppies are raised in our home as family members with emphasis on good nutrition and both physical & social development. We welcome all opportunities to introduce our Pack to the public. Sharing our love and enthusiasm for the breed and a lot of doggie kisses!
