This is a common problem! As a trainer, it is my job to help you find ways to communicate to your dog and create a healthy relationship!

Tools are there to aid in that communication process and getting rid of them too soon because 1. It’s too hard to remember to carry items with you. 2. Your dog walked fine 1 out of 10 times on a flat collar 3. You keep forgetting to charge the e collar so you just stopped using it 4. Your dog listens 50% of the time so that must be good enough to remove the leash all together 5. You want the dog to stop counter surfing when you’re gone but refuse to kennel 6. It’s too time consuming to put your dog on place when guests come over then get upset when the dog body checks your grandma back out the front door.

Being quick to stop using tools is purposefully failing your dog and the potential they have to succeed in our world.

Leash your dog, place your dog, treat your dog, play with your dog, charge your e collar, put the prong on whether you think it’s needed or not (better to have than not, then need and not have), have a long line on your dog in an open field, etc.
No control? Leash your dog. Stop taking away a responsible owners hard work they’ve put into their dogs! You never know what kind of dog your “friendly” dog is approaching.
