Dogs Are Love
I sometimes wonder why I get along so well with dogs...but have a harder time getting along with my fellow humans. I think it’s because humans are programmed to ration love, and hold it back until they assess another person’s worthiness. Dogs, on the other hand, are pure love from the time they’re born, and are enthusiastic about sharing it with anyone who will let them. This reminds me of the story of the 6 year-old who lost his dog: he knew why dogs only live a fraction of the time that humans do--we are here to learn how to love, while dogs are born already knowing how, so they don’t need to linger on this planet as long as we do. I will always hold my canine friends in high esteem for this! Well...that, and their sweet silly ways, their soft bellies, sweet faces, adorable toes and high-level cognitive abilities. Dogs are love, pure and simple.
