Only one adoption to celebrate this week, but it's a great one!!
F***g has been adopted by the family member of one of our wonderful fosters, who adopted Tricks earlier this summer! So there is plenty of tortitude in that household now!! 😻
F***g came to us from an at capacity shelter in June. We were pulling some bottle babies already, and they asked if we could take F***g as well, as she was just 4 weeks old but hadn't been eating well and was failing to gain weight. She had already been dewormed and vetted but was just "slow to thrive." The weaning period at around 4 weeks of age is a hard time for kittens to come into the shelter. They don't always take well to bottle feeding, but aren't quite ready for solid foods or even gruel quite yet, and end up with upset tummies that can take some time to rebalance. Especially so if they have any underlying parasites or infections, which kittens are very prone to.
Sometimes some kittens just need a little more patience than others. F***g continued to not have much appetite or gain more than a little weight for another solid week or two, but she was always feisty and fierce. So we kept trying, giving her extra supplements and calories, giving probiotics, and plenty of love, and before long she was gaining like a pro!
F***g became a big sister to those bottle babies (Vidar and Vale, who are still adoptable!) but since she was 2 weeks older than them she also enjoyed playing with the group of much older kittens in the kitten room at her foster home at that time- she didn't care if a kitten was twice her size she would wrestle them fearlessly all the same!
She is a really special little calico, and we are so happy to see her adopted ❤️
