If you have to advertise your litter under a rescue's post about puppies born in the shelter, you're doing it wrong, and you are the problem.
If you are choosing breeder in your search for a Cane Corso, please only choose an ethical and responsible breeder. An ethical breeder will be more than happy to show you their health testing results ( eyes, hips, hearts etc)- though taking your Cane Corso to the vet is a good thing- a regular vet check isn't "health testing". A reputable breeder also breeds for temperment and will offer you a contract to support the dog and your family for life- which means they will also take back the dog for any reason.
Rescue is a great option too- a breed specific rescue, like us, will qualify our applicants and provide support in the means of training, feeding ect.
Irresponsible Breeding is the leading cause of the current crisis in our breed. Irresponsible, back yard breeders are producing an outrageous amount of puppies that have various health and temperment issues. Purebred doesn't not mean wellbred, especially in the Cane Corso. These are not dogs we can be careless with. Cane Corso are being dumped and euthanized in record numbers and hundreds of thousands of them are being surrendered right now.
Please help us save our breed from wallowing and suffering in shelters and being dumped to fend for themselves. Choose to be responsible.
